Move with keyboard

I recently had to scan a large picture in two part and assemble it in PSPPro 2022 but found that trying to align the difficult just using the mouse. I tried the keyboard arrow keys but they didn't seem to do anything. Am I missing something or is there another way to make small movement adjustments of an image on a separate layer.

You need to make sure you have the item actively selected (by clicking on it) first with the pick tool. Then the arrows should move them ond pixel at a time. Depending on the size of the image and the distance they need to travel this will be insanely slow. So you can hold the CTRL or Shift keys to make it move by 10 or 100 pixel positions at a time.

To make things visually easier when applying Levifiction's suggestion, you may switch the Blend mode of the top layer to Difference. If the part that overlaps the other is perfectly aligned, you will get pure black if your scans were also aligned.

Many thanks both, I'd forgotten about Ctrl & Shift and it was such a large image that simple key presses had so little effect that it made me think nothing was happening!
