Splitting video causes audio to be out of sync
I have never had so much problem with editing videos before. After waiting literally over 2 days to convert a video so it will play in VS now I can't split video unless I want to have it go out of sync.

You do not give any details of your video file, original or the converted one.
Use MediaInfo to view the video’s properties, both original and new.
How long is the video?
If you are saying it took 2 days to convert the video then I would think there is something unusual with the original video or maybe the settings used to convert.
