Can render as 1080x1920?

Post by tletter »

When trying to render as 1080x1920, the output is 1088x1920 (see image). This happens in both VS2018 and VS2021.

HandBrake can transcode to 1080x1920, but that's an extra step.
Has anyone been able to successfully render as 1080x1920?

Yes, confirmed, also tested 2022 with same 1088 results
So far unable to render to 1080 x 1920, tried a few options creating my own profiles, but no luck so far.

Rather than MP4 -- I tried using AVI to user define frame size, even though I typed in 1080 the resultant profile auto changed to 1088

The 1080x1920 definition was introduced in X10 and it renders as expected. Something changed in VS2018 and later and it no longer renders as expected. It's clearly a bug.

Thanks for testing.

It's not just a VS issue, check this from the OBS forum.

I did a simple test, I loaded 1088 video to VLC and grabbed a snapshot ...
It came 1080 not 1088
