Filter - Stabiliser shows FX on render
Trying to smooth a jerky pan by using 'stabiliser' filter. It's thumbnail shows an 'FX' watermark [the only one to do so] and this shows in the rendered video. Also tried 'antishake' but this produces digitisation along side of frame. Any suggestions please? Regards, Peter

Re: Filter - Stabiliser shows FX on render
Which filter are you using?? details.
Generally if you want to stabilise a video - usually video taken from a jerky platform, such as a helicopter or a boat in moving sea - you should use the prodad mercalli filter (pro or RT). I'd recommend the pro version, as it gives you choices about how you do it. It then runs a scan to apply the choices you made. Once you apply it, don't change the clip duration (eg by trimming or adding a transition) or you''l get a visual warning about re-scanning the clip and that warning if unresolved shows in a rendered final.

Re: Filter - Stabiliser shows FX on render
Thanks David,
I did mention the two I had tried. Trying to smooth a jerky pan/drag across a map so initially tried 'antishake' from VS's Fx options but didn't like the result. Next tried 'Stabilise', which, if you look at its thumbnail, displays an FX watermark. I thought this would disappear in the render but it persists, hence my question. No other thumbnails have the 'FX' superimposed so possibly a glitch. Have used Mercali previously but wasn't trying to deal with any wobble, just a slightly jerky progress so thought there might be a simpler solution.
Regards, Peter.

Re: Filter - Stabiliser shows FX on render
Peter…..
Unfortunately I am unsure which filter you used as when mentioning stabilisation I first think of ProDad Mercalli, as mentioned by David.
I assume you are using Video Studio 2021, as your profile shows.
I have 2021 installed but unable to locate the Stabilise filter.
I am probably looking in the wrong place, can you help.
Some of these filters may need us to activate by accessing their web site, usually from a help or about option at the top of the filter panels.
I know some users copy filters across from one version of VS to another, that can also cause the watermark to show?

Re: Filter - Stabiliser shows FX on render
sorry but I do not have Stabilizer with my version of Video Studio 2021.
It could have been installed from an additional filter pack in which case you would have to activate the filter to remove the watermark.

Re: Filter - Stabiliser shows FX on render
As can be seen, in my VS2021, there is no 'Stabilizer' filter.Peem wrote: Attached photo should explain and you can see 'FX' on thumbnail and clip. Bottom RH thumbnail.
This together with a red X, normally means that the filter isn't licensed, in which case, it's odd that you don't see a message to activate this filter. Did you install any additional filters?Peem wrote:the 'FX' superimposed
VS filters are found in the 'C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 2021\vft_plug' filter.

Re: Filter - Stabiliser shows FX on render
Thanks to all who offered suggestions.
My VS2021 ultimate is as it downloaded, with no additions, although I still have previous editions on the PC. No messages to activate.
Don't want to waste people's time further so I will try Mercali instead, although thinking sledgehammer for walnut.
Regards, Peter

Re: Filter - Stabiliser shows FX on render
@ Peem... I will tell you, the NBFX stabilizer is painfully slow. Using Mercalli will be faster and give you a good result within reason.

Thanks @Peem. Things here are very busy. Lots happening, many people to take care of, and the hope and prayers of a swift end to the destruction and wanton loss of life.
