4.4 GB File size gives over limitation error for 4.7GB disk

Post by aylamustafa »

I have downloaded a DVD movie which I want to create a DVD out of.
The total size of the TS folder is 4.4gb. However after I import it to the ulead movie factory 3.5 the file size increases to 5.7 GB with a 1 hr 35 min timing with the below properties
MPEG files
24 Bits, 720 x 576, 25 fps
(DVD-PAL), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 7000 kbps)
LPCM Audio, 48000 Hz, Stereo

Hence I can not copy it to a 4.7 GB disk. When I change the video data rate to 4000kbs, the movie frames freeze or jump once in a while so it is not good quality.

Is there a way to fit the file to 4.7 GB DVD without loosing the quality

This sounds like an illegal procedure (i.e. cannot support piracy).

No its not.....
I paid 9.99 to download it and its quite legal. Since when purchasing a movie download is pirating..... I do not have a single illegal program or a file on my computer and I am happily paying alot to keep it that way.

I read where the latest coming from SD (secure digital) media is distribution of a movie along with copy protection (one copy).

You don't need for someone to help you. There are many posts about this question on this forum. Simply do a search of this forum or google for "Dvd Shrinking".

Hope this helps,

Thanks maddrummer...

There were 37 people who were reading my post and you were the only one who answered with a suggestion. The other one who replied was only trying to accuse without having any clue of how one can pay to download legaly from the internet. Maybe its him who has never paid for a download.

After reading your suggestion (I am new in working with DVDs) I will search through the forum for DVD shrinking. I already found some freeware like DVD shrink which may help.

Thanks again.

Hello aylamustafa,
I am one of the MovieFactory moderators.

The question you posted is usually 99% of the time a person attempting to make an illegal copy of a dvd and is not supported in this forum. That's why no one answered your post.

Most persons that post that question are new to working with dvd's and don't realize the legal restrictions placed on them.

The person that answered your post is also a VS moderator and was only questioning your post.
(He could have deleted it and then posted a personnal message to you).

Unfortunately that can be an issue depending on what country you live in.

No offense intended, you can download movies as divx format with the agreement to view the movie within a specified time. After that you can't download the movie anymore. If the movie is still on your harddisk you are supposed to delete it. With these movies it's the same agreement as renting a dvd. You are only paying to watch the video. You don't own the
physical material nor the rights to it.

Many people can bypass the protection on these files and also don't delete them.
Since you say you are new to dvd creation in due time you will learn all this.

Please review the license agreement with the person(s) you obtained the movie from. You are technically altering the movie by re-encoding it using software programs like dvd shrink.

Please do not take offense to this post and do not respond to this post.
If you have any questions send a PM (personnal message) to me.
