PSP 2022 Crashes on Print Settings in Print Layout

Whenever I hit the Print Settings button (gear icon) when in Print Layout, PSP2022 crashes. Anyone else seeing this?

Does it happen when you do File/Print setup?
I work with this regularly and I don't see any crashes.

The best solution is uninstall and reinstall your printer. It could be a corrupt printer driver. If your still having the same fault, reset psp. What printer are you using and what version of windows? Another solution is to go to control panel printers and change your printer to say Microsoft PDF and see if that works if that does its your print driver, if not reset psp. Failing that reinstall paintshop pro.

I reset PSP - all except file locations.
This had no effect on the issue - when clicking on the Gear icon in File/Print Layout, PSP displays the settings page but any clicks on the various settings or clicking on OK results in an Out of Memory error window to pop up and then after a few moments PSP crashes and disappears.

And PSP is the only app I have this issue with.

I changed the default printer from HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP 278-281fdw to Microsoft Print to PDF.
That enabled me to print to a pdf via Print Layout and File/Print but still crashed in Print Layout after selecting the Gear icon for print settings.

So... I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer drivers for the HP printer and rebooted the machine. That resulted in no change.
With the printer reinstalled, PSP still crashes after clicking the Gear icon in Print Layout and also when clicking Properties in File/Print.
As before it displays an Out of Memory window and then after a few moments crashes and vanishes.

I'll trying reinstalling PSP 2022.

Do you have the same problem when running the 32bit version of PSP 2022?

Good question. I don't know. I no longer install the 32 bit version.

I also have this problem with PSP 2022 x64. No other applications have issues printing. It doesn't matter which printer I select, so it's not a printer driver issue.

Any updates on this? Can we expect a bug fix from Corel?

It's difficult to say it is necessarily a bug when only two or three people report problems in this regard. I for instance don't have problems with my Brother color laser printer. You haven't told us what printer you are using. But I would be surprised if Corel spent much time trying to cause a problem reported by only a couple of people when Corel is probably using different types of printers...

Interesting. When I tried this back in April it was with the 32-bit version of PSP2022 and I was unable to replicate the crash. However, based on your mention of the x64 version I tried and was definitely able to cause the 64-bit version to crash exactly as described above with first the memory error message and then the dialog box for settings and the crash.

My primary printer is an HP OfficeJet Pro 7740. But it doesn't matter which printer I have selected as default - the crash always occurs. I have replicated it on my primary PC (Windows 10 Pro) and my laptop (Windows 11 Pro). It's clearly not related to the printer driver.
