Let's say I made a mask tracking a person to have a layer behind him/her. The mask creates an overlay which I use the cover the layer/fonts etc behind it.
Suddenly I realized that there is a mistake in the mask or in keyframe.
I could not find a way to fix it. I need to create a mask from the scratch. Is it so or am I missing something?

I assume you are using Mask Creator and not Track Motion
Either way, the clip will have a yellow star to the top left, click this symbol for options to open the filter.
If using Mask Creator that will open allowing you to modify the effect, remember to select the first Masking Tool, the large pointer, your keyframes will then show.
