I came to the board because 1) My gif animator would not load anymore I found where I had to remove 2 of the codecs which helped. It loaded and worked fine again. Seems it is not compatible with newer codecs.
BUT now it is leaving a ghost effect.
Let me see if I can explain.
If I apply any of the Banner text effects and then go view it it leaves a ghost
of that as it moves. So say I use the Drop effect...
As it is dropping it leaves the text all the way down
instead of a clean background as the text drops in you are seeing each frame of the text.
Now it never did this before.
Is it still another codec interfering?
I love this program and used it alot. I know I installed a newest codec bundle because other software was not working right. I did look for the codecs mentioned and I removed 3ivx.dll and 3ivxVfWCodec.dll With those removed I was able to load Gif Animator again. But now it leaves the ghost of the effect behind
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you

I'm a lot late on this post, but maybe this will help someone...
Change the frame properties of all the frames to the "Smart" removal method. I'll bet they are set to "Do Not Remove" or "Let Web Browser Decide."
You may want to click "File" and open your Preferences. Under the General tab, set Removal Method to Smart. That may be where your troubles lie, too.

HI
Thank you for letting me know about this smart setting
Since I have posted my first post about Gif animator 5 not loading
I had to reformat since then ..Of course gif ani. would not load again past
the video I/O ..WHEW I remembered I came here for help. I saw in my post what 2 dlls I have to remove so gif will work right.
Now I need to try it out and see if I get the ghost thingy again.
Under preferrence it was set on the smart setting but do you know
what delay settings it should be at? I have it at 10
Thank you for replying no matter how late it is
I am going to see about this ghost thing and see if it is still occuring
Do you know if Ulead has an update for gif 5 yet? It should be able to run
with all the new codecs.
Merry Christmas

I should have mentioned this earlier (oops)...
If you get the ghost effect on an animation, and Smart is in your preferences already, then you will likely have to select all frames and check the Frames Properties - if it doesn't say Smart, change it to Smart.
If you are adding a banner to a GIF you found elsewhere, the settings in the original GIF will be there, not from your Preferences. In your case, likely "Do Not Remove" is what you'll find there.
Good luck!
