Just wondering if anyone who has tried multi cam edit with 2022 Ultimate finds that it crashes every time after sync.
Thanks,
Candy

Re: VS 2022 Ultimate crashes on multi cam edit
Just tested MCE using 2022 with no crashes
Tested with MP4 and MTS type video
What type of video are you working with, variable frame rate video can cause issues.
Is MCE timelines frame rate same as your video files rate.

Re: VS 2022 Ultimate crashes on multi cam edit
Hi Trevor, can you tell me where to see the frame rate if this isn't it. I got this from project properties:
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 29.97 fps
Frame-based
H.264 High Profile Video: 2728 Kbps, 16:9
48000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 256 Kbps
Thanks,
Candy

the frame rate is shows as 29.97fps (frames per second), this is a standard frame rate for NTSC video types.
As you are allowing the program to match the properties then the Video files properties will be the same, As your comment on the other post “In Multi Cam Editor, I dragged camera 1 onto the video timeline and then clicked yes to match camera properties”
An observation
The video Data rate looks a little low at 2728Kbps, influences quality, this will be a quality setting within the camera, I assume the second camera may be different.
Personally I would adjust the cameras quality settings before the next recording, Although this may have been set low to increase the actual recording times.

Re: VS 2022 Ultimate crashes on multi cam edit
Trevor, thanks! I'll take a look at the the data rate of both cameras. Maybe that could be why audio gets out of sync in MCE? Anyway, I'll look at it. If MCE worked, it's so much easier.

Re: VS 2022 Ultimate crashes on multi cam edit
Hi Trevor: I'm using two Canon XF400s. I checked all the settings in each camera and they are the same except one had "using remote control" ON. I'm not using that so I turned it OFF.
Now when I look in properties by right clicking both cameras in VS each camera's timeline I get for data rate the following:
Camera 1: 15,500 Kbps
Camera 2: 4,250 Kbps
That as you mentioned data rate is something within the camera, right? I can't find in these cameras where the ability to change data would be. Frame rate on both is set to 29.97 fps. Hm, I wonder if I need to do a firmware update on the new camera.

First a firmware update will not affect the recording settings, not really worth going there.
Sorry for any confusion, the data rate will affect the quality of recordings and the recording size of the file in Gb
Your camera 1 using 15,50Kbps will be a better quality than Camera 2 using 4,25kbps, I would suspect the audio rate is also different.
If the camera settings are causing the audio to drift out of sync you should adjust Camera 2 to use the same as Camera 1, at least should improve things for your next project.
I googled the XF 400 camera and found details to change that, defaults to a setting 1920 x 1080 x (17Mbps)
http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/6/030002841 ... m-n-en.pdf
From page 46.
Hope this helps
If you right click each of your recordings on the timeline, choose properties to compare the clips

Trevor, thanks so much for clarification and help on this and for looking up details on the XF400. I will read that.
