Pick Tool selects background layer

Post by evilgaz »

Hi!

I've long been frustrated by this, but maybe there's an answer? When using the Pick Tool to attempt to select Vector objects, in Vector mode (but also Raster mode), if I don't hit the object perfectly the program select background or lower Raster layers, which is very frustrating. I can hide visibility on everything except the layer I'm working with, but then it can become difficult to see what I'm working with, especially with several objects as a more complicated picture is built up.

Is there a way to prevent the selector from jumping to raster layers or even changing layers at all when trying to work on a specific layer with vector objects (short of hiding every other layer)?

Thanks in advance for any help

Gaz

Do you need to move this layer or do you need to use the features of the Pick tool?
If you just need to move it, you can use the Move tool and hold the Shift key to grab the layer wherever you click.
Would that work?
