More on restrictions in trial version

Post by mdrury »

I downloaded the trial version of MF4. I was able to design a project and burn a DVD OK but the program would not let me change the settings for quality - it defaulted a 2 hour 17 min movie to a file for burning of under 1.5GB even though it appeared to recognise my Sony (OEM) DW-Q28A dual layer burner (i.e., 8.5GB capacity). I tried manually changing preferences to "good quallity" video but to no effect.

Also, when played the video quality alternates at about half second intervals between sort-of OK and very, very blocky.

Does anyone know if this is another restriction in the trial version? I could not find anything about it on the Ulead site.

You can try clicking on the "Gear" icon (bottom of the screen) and UNCHECKING "Do Not Convert Compliant Mpeg Files".

Ah! That got the project size up and into layer 2! I'll try burning and report back. Thanks.

That seems to have done the trick - thanks very much.
