Sudden smart proxy issues CPU 100%

Post by MikesMovies »

Hi guys

I started work on a project today, with just four video tracks added to the time line I began cutting them with Multi trim, however everything got really laggy very fast.
Editing became impossible as video and audio started stuttering and skipping.
I restarted the PC but there was no change.
Looking in performance manager I saw that VS was taking >64% and total CPU was at 100%.

The only way I have found to stop this is to switch off 'create smart proxy'
Attached is the settings I was using.
Video files are my normal MP4 50fps Pal.

It was all working two days back, the only recent change is to my Nvidia graphics driver that was updated around a week back.
GPU processor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
Driver version: 473.04

Any ideas please?

With that driver version, it indicates that Nvidia no longer supports your GPU, so a special security update driver has been released, try rolling back to your previous version
