I am trying to crop an image that is a rectangle with a circle in the center of the image. The circle is the size of a label for a printable DVD. I need to remove the outer 4 corners and have just the circular DVD image left. I then need to save the image without the 4 corners so I can copy it to my printable disk. I am having trouble getting this to work.
Can you give me some steps on how to get this done? I checked through the help menu but I am still having problems.
I am using Corel 2022 Ultimate 64bit on a windows 10 computer.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike and welcome to the forum.
Instead of the crop tool you can use the selection tool with Selection Type set to Circle to select your circular label and then go to the Selections menu and click Promote Selection to Layer.

Re: Crop a rectangle to a circle for a DVD
To add to what Kathy_9 said, you can ten drag that layer onto the workspace to become a separate image of the circle.
An alternative is to make sure that your image is a normal layer and not a background layer, make the selection she suggested, then go to Selections>Invert. This will invert the selection so that it encompasses the area outside of the original circle selection. Hit the Delete key and it will delete whatever is there, leaving the circle intact and the checkerboard effect around it denoting that area as transparent. If the circle doesn't fit against the top, bottom and sides (i.e., transparency shows all around the image, even where the circle should be against the middle ot top, bottom and sides) then invert the selection again so that it encompasses the circle, then Selections>Crop to Selection. Check Image Information to make sure that it still shows the image printed size as DVD size (usually approximately 4.75 inches) and with a resolution of at least 200PPI (Pixels Per Inch) so that it prints well.
