That is very strange. I've never seen that happen and the trial should not have anything to do with it. Try doing a reset to default.

Here are the instructions: https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=67616

Thank you both for this possible solution, but I do not have this option to select a reset in file/preferences, this is missing as well as file location???
I can see that there should be 7 options in preferences, but I only have 5 (and this is on both computers)
Also, I can see from Jean-luc picture, Colour Management and Database backup is missing in File?

Okay, two thoughts.

1. Make certain you are really in the Complete workspace and not the Photography workspace. Note: Photography has only 5 options in preferences and not 7 like Complete.

2. If you truly are in the Complete workspace you can reset by holding down the shift key while starting PSP from the desktop icon. It's detailed in the instructions I linked to earlier.

Ok, thanks Kathy, that fixed the missing things to select in File and Preferences
I have put picture files into Textures and can see them in Material Properties, but I need this to be able to use in Effects - Is this not possible?

Which of Kathy's suggestions fixed your problem - the Reset routine or were you actually in the Photography workspace, not the Complete workspace?

Resetting with the shift key fixed the problem of missing items, however, I still want to know if I can use my own picture files in - Effects and not in Material Properties?

No, you cannot add to the built in Effects. You can however use your own pictures by linking to the folder it is stored in via File Locations - Texture.

Then once you have done that you can either access your texture via the Materials Palette or via Effects - Texture - Texture.

Here's an example of a wood grain effect added to an image via Effects - Texture Effects - Texture.

If im correct I have now linked my picture file in File Locations - Texture
You have then said - "you can either access your texture via the Materials Palette or via Effects - Texture - Texture" however, I cannot access my picture(s) in Effects
Have I done something wrong?
and yes that is the effect i am trying to get!

When you open the texture dialog click on the texture picture to bring up the texture selector. THen make sure the category drop-down in the selector is set to "All" to see all images that PSP has found.

If it's visible in the materials palette under "Textures" not "pattern" it should be visible in the Textures selection in the Texture Effect.

Thanks Levifiction but in my case you are going to have to be very specific... I dont know, looking at your picture.. are you in Matierial Properties? I cant find where you mention texture dialog..! (after everything in this process of trying to apply an effect I feel like I am using another program)???

This is the Texture Effect dialog. You find it by going to the menu at the top of the program and selecting Effects -> Texture Effects -> Texture

Here is a video demonstration of the two methods mentioned in this forum topic: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nzff_J ... sp=sharing

It's not a great video, I didn't have much time. If the link still says "processing" you can download the video to watch it. Or wait for it to finish processing to stream it online.
