Why to stop there? get right to 16K
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/16K_resolution
with very quick rendering of course.

Can you upload 5sec of your 5K so we can test it?

But surely, the higher the resolution, the larger the screen required to display, as we already know, for 4K the recommended minimum size screen is 32". just what size screen would be required for 8K and larger

Input file was what Power Director first saw. The Output was the best it could do.
VS cannot accept the Input file. The ability to accept 8k as input is around the corner. Presently, there is no consumer 360 camera that can support 8k only pro cameras, but it is coming. Therefore, the need to accept 360 8k video, as input, will be required and it will be outputted at 4k. I don't think I will be aound to see the advent of consumer 8k TVs, but that day may come. The videos were made with an Insta360 One RS camera.

Please update the screen recorder in the video studio. It is limited to only 30fps and 720p. Give it some features and enhance it with proper UI. Thank you.

pepegota -- While I accept that VS cannot edit such video, it was interesting that it did in fact insert something in the timeline when I selected that 6016 x 2560 clip. It was as you suggested unusable in VS, and showed no video -- just a long black clip with audio line through it. I could hear the sound of tyres on the road. I thought VS had frozen, but it remained active while I experimented, and is still open as I type this. But it was incredibly slow to move between my chosen actions. It even brought up the dual screen when I chose one of the 360 controls in VS.

in the share section, I can hardly read the writing in the properties rectangle or in the File location. Either brighten up the writing or give it an easier to see colour

It's very demanding clip at ~150Mb/s
Few freeware open and play it but I wasn't able to render it out. VMS16P also open it.
* I don't see any practical use for such wide and heavy demanding video for Jane or John doe.

**Update, In TunesKit I was able to render but only up to 30Mb/s

PD can handle it and I export 4096x2160 at 35Mb/s-no problems. This is a wide angle view. For more information Google insta360 One RS. When wider angle is needed I can use this and I get a good useable video.

DaVinci Resolve 17 Studio had no problems with the Input clip. I set the timeline to 6016x2560 resolution and the Delivery page to CBR 150000 Kb/s to match 150 Mb/s and added stabilization too.
I set the download availability for a week.

How many tracks do you want, VS2022 has 49 overlay tracks, 8 music tracks 2 title tracks and 1 voice track, what would you require more for

Surely your hard drive is 1TB not 1GB, don't think your computer, from your listed specifications could handle too many timelines

But does Davinci Resolve 17 (free version) also have the ability to set 6K resolution, if not A$469 is a lot to pay for the Studio version,
Edit,
Just checked, the free version is limited to 4K, same as VS

Yes. DaVinci Resolve Studio is $295USD in all it's glory BUT the free version matches and outperforms VS in many ways. If one is just entering into the world of NLE, there are several free and inexpensive options out there to get the job done.
