Multicam Capture uses 75%+ CPU

Post by RHutniak »

Hello Everyone

I've been using MCC (not Lite) with VS 2021 Ultimate to make training videos for about 5 weeks now, and it was working well. About a week and a half ago, the Audio \ Video has lost sync even though I'm only recording 1 screen and 1 webcam ( Avermedia 360 1080). It has been gradually getting worse until I couldn't record 1 minute without the audio not synced to the same video track.

Reading on-line from many different sources, and from this forum, I've tried many "Solutions" but none are working. When I read a post about CPU usage I checked and found that MCC in idle uses 12%-19% but when recording 75%-85%. This pushes the CPU to 100% and I believe this is the cause for the sync issues. I run SketchUp 3D modeling software and work with files as large as 250Mb with very few issues so I'm not sure why MCC pushes my CPU up so high.

When this started to happen I updated my nVidia driver and sound driver. No change. I've set VS to use GPU Hardware acceleration, Smart Proxy. Nothing works. I've also tried the Latency Detect feature on MCC and let it run for over an hour. (Never finished detecting)
MCC's User Manual only shows basic information; does it have its own Preference settings outside of VS? Can you set a fixed frame rate for the camera like you can with the screen? Yet both are recorded as a variable FR anyways. I don't understand. I've downloaded Handbrake but feel this won't work because it is a Lip Sync problem on the same track not syncing different cameras with audio.

Has anyone fixed their Audio/Video sync issues? I would like to hear from you.
