Opening PDF with no anti-alias asks for password

Post by susb8383 »

Hi,

I'm brand new to PSP.

I'm trying to open a pdf of barcodes. However if I uncheck Enable Anti-Aliasing, it tells me "This file is password protected."

What would one have to do with the other?

I get this same error if I create the pdf myself (from MSWord, save as pdf).

Note that if I leave Enable Anti-Aliasing checked, it opens it fine.

Thanks.

I tested with PSP 2022 and yes, that is odd. Password is required. It seems you have discovered a bug. It needs to be confirmed.

Confirming. . . I just tried with PSP2020, 2021 & 2022 and received the message password required. However, PSP X9 does not have this bug and opens the PDF with no issue when anti-alias is un-ticked.

I don't have a problem opening PDF files in Paintshop Pro though it was a single image of a person. I just selected PDF as the format I wanted to open, found the file and pressed open.

Splash3313 your profile doesn't say which version of PSP you're using. But just to clarify, did it ask you for the size to open the PDF as? And if it did did you unselect "anti-aliasing"?

I just opened the file in paintshop pro 2022 and it didn't ask for a password. However I did just go open and in file type pdf file so that it showed only pdf files and then opened the pdf i wanted. It could be how the pdf is created as it only had an image in it.

It asks for a password if you uncheck antialias.
The problem has been reported to Corel. :)
