flood fill stopped working

Post by prairiecomm »

Hi,
I have x5 and x8, but actually mostly use x5 for daily needs. About a month ago the flood fill stopped working. The command icon is present in the tool palette, but nothing happens. Windows 10. Everything else continues to be fine.

Thanks!

Have you tried resetting PSP? To do so, hold down the Shift key when you click the desktop icon to open PSP. You should get a message asking if you want to reset PSP. Make sure, though, that you save any customized workspace before you do this. Otherwise, it will be lost in the reset.

well, that didn't do it (no message), tho I see that's also what corel recommends (there's no workspace in any dropdowns). The one thing I haven't done is to reinstall from the disk ... which I'll do.

but thanks!

Sorry all, I should have said V5, not X5 - ancient history here! but this gives me a number of avenues to pursue.

I am not sure that PSP5 works in Windows 10 but to confirm a few things. The attached image is the tool options from PSP5 (found on an old tutorial). Can you confirm what the settings you show on your version for Fill Style, Match Mode, Tolerance and Opacity?

yup, they're there. (and yes, it does work on windows 10, and the flood fill worked on 10 until the last year or so). But I should try simply reinstalling it from my CD, which I think I've got around somewhere.

thanks!
