Free Boris Particle Illusion Standalone

Boris has just today released the new version 15.0.2. It's free and standalone. As a separate download you have access to 2500 particle emitters. It can be found at https://borisfx.com/downloads/?product= ... 20illusion I already had the earlier version, but even if you didn't, 15.0.2 is still available to you. If you don't already have a Boris account, it just requires your name and email address. To repeat, there is no money involved in this.

You beat me to it Ken, downloaded and installed, seems to be a major makeover, amazing that it is now free, can remember years ago when it cost a small fortune to buy

Thanks for info Ken. Presumably you can create a particle video with an alpha chanel to inset into VS as an overlay?

What do you mean by hefty, are we talking 3 Gb+ like Video Studio installation folder?

I haven't install this new one, but with all emitters it could be over 2Gb I think. If one use it once a week... maybe, but for once in 2 years?

FWIW my File Explorer shows the Boris folder, which houses the Illusion program and Emitters (all of which I installed yesterday) to be 494 MB.

Thanks for link Trevor, I found a couple of good tutorials on YouTube. Interesting about the size Ken, worth installing if only just to play around with. Something to expand the old grey matter on.

Robert -- where did you find the Emitters? I have an EmittersLibraries subfolder alongside the Particle Illusion Standalone subfolder in the BorisFX folder, but nothing beyond that that I can readily see. There are a couple of minor folders in AppData > Local and Roaming, but no Emitters there.

EDIT: Ah! I think I found them in Program Data... But I've still got tons of room.

So I wasn't just plain idiot, I'm not at home, I just recalled that few years ago I decided to remove newer PI for a much older one that was just ~150Mb.
*Robert, I prefer much smaller drives so I wont hoard stuff I never/hardly use. Or in case a drive fails the pain will be smaller.
