PSP2018 Startup

Post by jparnold »

Is it possible to set PSP2018 so that it starts with the Edit screen instead of the Welcome screen?

John -- go to File > Preferences > General Program Preferences > Tabs and select "Set Edit as default".

Thanks Ken. I previously navigated to preferences but didn't drill down far enough.
Thanks
BTW on installation it was recommended to install BOTH the 32 and 64 bit versions. I wondered why but only installed the 64 bit version as I could not understand why a user would want to ever run the 32 bit version. Your comments?

In fact you would probably find that many users want the 32 bit version more than the 64 bit. The recommendation to install both is made because there are a heck of a lot of plug-ins/filters and the like out there which go with PSP, but they are mostly 32 bit. And many of the companies which made them - some quite some time ago -- are no longer around, so will never produce 64 bit versions. So those add-ons will only work if you have the 32 bit PSP open. But if you are unlikely ever to have such 32 bit add-ons, then the 64 bit version is more than sufficient for you.

Aha addons. Never thought of that although if I remember correctly I have only ever used one addon (Metrix) and only used it once top correct some strange colour balance if I remember correctly.
Thanks
