Text tool: how to add acute accent marks (diacritical)

How do I add certain acute accents over letters (such as the accent over the Spanish o) in PSP?

Use Alt and the numeric keyboard:
ó = Alt + 0243
ñ = Alt + 0241

If you don't have a numeric keyboard, use the Windows Character Map:

Thank for these tips, but the alt+0243 doesn't work. I tried both holding down the alt key and pressing 0243, and pressing-releasing alt key and typing 0243 and nothing happens except the Windows alert sounds.
As for the second suggestion, how do I call the Windows character map while in a text box?

If you are getting the Windows alert sound it appears you are using the number keys above the letters. You need to use the number keys on the number keypad on the right.

Open the Windows Character map and select the character you want to use. Copy the character (Ctrl-C)
Open PSP
Open the image you want to add this to
Select the Text tool
You mention the text box, is this an old version of PSP you are using? PSP has been direct entry of text for awhile now but the text box can still be called by holding the shift key before selecting the tool
If text box, hit Paste (Ctrl-v).
If direct entry text- the same paste.
The selected character will be input using whatever font/parameters you have selected.
It is possible that the selected font does not support special characters but most do.
