Another User is running Video Studio error message

After installing VideoStudio Pro X7, the application does not start and gives me this error box ..

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forum.

I am wondering, though, if you have multiple user accounts (or just two) on your computer. I can't say I have ever seen this message before, and I've been around the Corel world for quite a few years now. But it suggests either you or another user of your computer, with a separate user account on it, may have installed Video Studio separately.

There are various ways of finding out if there is another user account: see https://www.digitalcitizen.life/how-gen ... d-windows/ The third method is probably the quickest or least challenging to someone not experienced enough to use command prompts. You get to to Computer Management, by the way, by going to the Windows Control Panel and selecting Administrative Tools at the very start of that page. Then in the new page which appears, Computer Management is the second item down.

It looks like something has a lock on vstudio.exe or another VS file. Have to tried rebooting and seeing if the problem persists?

Thank you for responding.

Here are more details: This is my older workstation that I used on the web. It got loaded up with c**p. I replaced the spinning drives with three ssd drives and did a fresh Windows 7 install. I am the only user/administrator.

Since my original post, I uninstalled VisualStudio, cleaned out all Windows Temp files, ran the VisualStudion cleanup utility, and reinstalled to a different drive using (Install as Administrator) option. Now all I get is a quick hour-glass and nothing at all. No process shows up in Task Manager.

I had VisualStudio Pro X7 running on this same PC before. Typically I do all my video editing in Premier Pro, but I bought VisualStudio for the Screen Capture application and at this point I have no idea what is going on.

A windows 7 update in February 2017 left all Corel Video Studio programs inoperative.
Corel have provided fixes for some versions
A hot fix was provided for X7, scroll down the topic for CVSX7 details
