Old looping problem corrected?

Post by bardo »

I have been using VideoStudio X7 for some years but now with the multiplicity of different cameras, phones, etc I often have a mixture of video types presented to me by the family for merging into one video file, usually a .mp4 with a common 1920x1080 resolution. I am now more frequently getting hang-ups at different rendering percentages, and even if I start with one type, today a series of .3gp files at 1280x720, I am getting a loop at 46%, or later 99% after stripping out some clips, and having to go to Task Manager on Windows 10 to abort the process. This is now getting tedious. As my version is quite old can anyone give me assurances that Corel have ever fixed these kinds of hang-ups and that if I were to purchase an up-to-date version that I would manage to get my Share to MP4 to a satisfactory conclusion?

One of the common problems these days, even with the most recent versions, is that Video Studio has considerable difficulty dealing with variable frame speeds which have now become very common in the video cameras of many types of modern smartphones. Since it sounds as though you will be getting at least some of these from family and friends, it is likely you will still get hangups when processing the video. Our usual suggestion is to use third party software (such as the freeware Handbrake which many of us use) to convert such video to standard video frame rates before inserting into VS.
