Audio problem

Post by kmvideo »

I am combining a couple of (green screen) videos, a background jpg image and an audio track containing a wav file. When I play the audio track alone, it sounds great. However, when I preview the entire collection of tracks (all muted except the audio track), the sound is severely distorted with a low volume level. What might be causing this problem and how can I resolve it?

Using VideoStudio Ultimate 2019 with Windows 10. I hadn't used it for more than one year, at which time this problem did not exist with previous projects.

All suggestions welcome!

Does the problem exist if you open one of your previous projects?

You could try editing and combining all the audio tracks in Audacity and then adding the single combined audio track back into your VSP.

If you render the project to a new video file does that play ok, try playing using one of your media players.

If this is ok then it may be a project playback issue where enabling Smart Proxy may help.

Also, I only ever use the volume filter in VS, I almost never use the audio improvement filters. I do it all hardcore in Audacity. Try turning off the audio filters and if that helps, upgrade videostudio? I'm not sure, but I did once have a bad experience using the built in filters so I just changed my workflow after that, the filters do work well, but I've not used them on long videos.
I hope you persevere.
