Hi and Good Day!
To everyone reading this. Yes, its true, I am one of
those members that only post when I have a problem
but I do come to just read sometime. I wish that were the
case today. The problem here is simple, I can’t get started!
Working on a system re-load and I can not get the program
to except my program key. I’ve been here for a bit but this is
a first for me. Here is the other part of the problem. When the
program rejects my key, it next tells me that I have code 1004
and must contact support. I did, and have not heard a word yet.
That was two weeks ago! As I mentioned, I’ve been here for a bit,
back to the Ulead days before Corel took it over but I’ve never
heard of anyone waiting this long for an answer. Anyone know
what the problem is? I sent the first mail two weeks ago and a
second follow-up letter last Friday, both to customer service.
If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions, I’d love to hear them.

First I have removed your e-mail address from your post, displaying that may attract unwanted spam mails.
When you say a system re-load do you mean re-installing windows 10.
First can you make sure that Windows 10 is upto date by checking for Updates.
Also tell us what version of Windows 10 you are using, I believe 21H2 is available, at least has popped into my update queue.
Your Profile shows using Windows 7, can you update those details, or is this correct.
As for the error codes – I have no idea, sorry.
I assume you are trying to install VS 2018 by running the
VS2018_Online.exe or maybe called VideoStudio_Install.exe at 10,960Kb
You will be asked to enter your registration details including your e-mail address, make sure you are using the same e-mail address used to register the program when first installed.
This e-mail address should be the same as your details used to log-into your Corel Account

As for Corel Support, you should have received a reply by now, did you get an auto mail containing a Ticket number.
I would try the Chat option from their support page.

It has been a while. I tried to fix my on-line info for
the group but in answer to my posting; some of the
things are correct. Yes, reloading Windows 10 at
Version 19043.1415.at 64 bit. The machine is an
Acer 895.
To be honest with you, am sorry I did not spring for
more than the 8 megs of RAM they furnished. But what
can you do? Adding more Ram would give me a little
less wait time. After re-reading your message a second time through
I decided to try Customer Service one more time and
also make reference to their ticket number a few times. It does
make me wonder//?………...could they be having issues because
of all this trouble with the Virus??
Stranger things have happened I suppose; that would be my luck! Its
just that it seems so unusual that all of a sudden it has decided to
go against me! I’ve had this install CD for a while. Maybe its shot?
I will keep you posted on the out come.

Installing from the disc may have its own issues.
You may be best to download the installation files I assume you will be able to do that using the Installer file and your serial number.
By default the installation files are downloaded to a folder on your desktop.
Go to Corel Support here to download the VS 2018 installation file. (VideoStudio2018_Installer.exe)

The link is from England (EN) but you should be able to locate the US version
Run this file adding your serial number, does that work.

As promised I am reporting in. I really thought getting a
different install would solve the problem BUT……………
downloading a different copy did nothing. I am one of
these people that take computer science seriously and don’t
play any games but rather get into WWII documentaries and
older movies from about 1945 forward.
What I did do was reload the entire computer again! I have
a few other programs that have been added through time. My
thinking here was that maybe one or more of them could have
issue with VS 2018. My only change here was to load Video
Studio first. In any event, things seem to be back in order.
Not any to soon either as we are expecting some especially nasty
cold weather this week-end with lows at zero or less. Unfortunately
along with the drop in the temperature, we are also to have strong
winds 30- to 40 miles per hour; this will produce a wind chill of
25 to 35 below. Now that’s just a bit chilly even for me. Before I
close, I want to Thank you again for all your help and the taking
of your time.
