Hello.
Maybe someone can tell me how I can insert (or add) a second project into a main project. Until now I can only have one project at the timeline at the same time. When I open another project the actual project has to be saved and closed.
However I would like to combine several different projects at the timeline and make one project of it.
Thanks for your time,
Insert subprojects into a main project

Re: Insert subprojects into a main project
I suspect your problem is you want to further edit the inserted sub-project once you have inserted it. That AFAIK can't happen. The process is called nesting. You drop the VSP file of the sub-project into the timeline of the main project as though you were inserting a video clip. But that's it. Video Studio assumes that sub-project is fine as it is. If you want to edit the sub-project, it has to be opened as a separate project and edited, then saved with all the edits. And then you can insert the newly edited VSP into the timeline of the main project.

As I understand it, you have A.VSP and B.VSP and wish to combine them into a single A+B.VSP. If that is the case, then this can be simply done by opening A.VSP and then adding B.VSP into your video library. Next drag B.VSP from your video library onto the timeline of A.VSP. It can take a bit of time until VS completes processing the combined A+B.VSP, but once finished the combined VSP is completely editable.Antois wrote: Maybe someone can tell me how I can insert (or add) a second project into a main project ... Sometimes placement of B.VSP is facilitated by splitting A.VSP into two parts, i.e. A1.VSP and A2.VSP, and then dropping B.VSP at the end of A1.VSP to get A1+B.VSP, and finally dropping A2.VSP at the end of A1+B.VSP to get A1+B+A2.VSP which is completely editable.

I did this once and found that changing the duration of a nested project can cause you a lot of pain, at least it did for me. So I just avoid. Would love to know if you do come right, since nesting projects would have saved me a whole load of re-edits last time I did a video.

Re: Insert subprojects into a main project
Thank you guys for the advices. I will experiment with this nesting of one VSP into another.
At a later time I may be posting some results.
Thanks for your reactions.
