Hi,
I've tried to create a smart collection using the criteria "image date is after 01/01/2021" and "tag is xxxx" for a couple of tags.
However, whatever I set the date to, it always includes absolutely everything with the specified tags.
As 'image date' isn't, as such, a file property in Windows, I wonder what it's looking at and how I can get it to ignore older files. (File properties include date taken, date created, date modified; none of which can be specified in PSP 22).
Any clues gratefully accepted.

Re: Using dates in smart collections - how?
I believe Image Date is the date the image was taken. Found in either the EXIF or IPTC data. I'm not sure. I don't have any images whose file creation date is listed as being different than the EXIF and IPTC creation dates.
Quick question though, in the collection rules, do you have it set to match "All" or "Any"?

Hi there, set to "All". I checked the IPTC and EXIF data of the files selected and many have a date before the specified range.

Are there any dates in the three tabs File, EXiF, INFO that are = or after the date specified? Just any dates, ignore trying to match them.

Hi - no - for an example, every date on a file included is 05/07/2013. The mystery deepens!

Re: Using dates in smart collections - how? SOLVED
Hi again - I have solved this which appears to be a bug in the logic. If you have the date as the first criterion it is applied and you can add the tags. Doing it the other way round is broken
Thanks for your help in clarifying my thoughts anyway.

Re: Using dates in smart collections - how?
Glad you got it working.
Very weird though, definitely not seeing that at all on my side. I added the tags first in my initial test, then the date and it grabbed them all perfectly. I did it in reverse and got the exact same results for both collections. Did you say you're using PSP 2022 also?
