VideoStudio 2021 Ultimate - Start and crash.

I installed some NewBlue Effects and VideoStudio will not work properly after that.
Start and crash.
Does anybody has or had a similar problem?

I have been unable to run VS 2021 Ultimate after installing it on my Lenovo with Windows 10 Home. No word from Corel support yet. I tried to call them yesterday, and after waiting on hold for quite some time, someone answered and then I got cut off. So far am highly unimpressed by the company and the product.

I have tried re-downloading/re-installing and using the various fixes I've found on this board. No joy. I get the splash panel for about a minute, and then nothing.

Same here on my Windows 11 computer. No fix from Corel until now.

There is a known issue relating to New Blue, fix for some by removing NewBlueFX
Has to be done in a specific order

From Corel Support---- You can install all the bonus features and before launch go to C:\Program Files\NewBlueFX\uninstallers and run the uninstallers. After which VS will launch without issues.

Thanks for the hint, just removed them and now no random crashes when using VideoStudio. I added an audio FX that was part of the NewBlue and it crashed the application. Might give the application a reinstall.

Spoke too soon, I have random crashes when doing a playback. Windows 11 compatability with VS 2021? Anyone else having random crashes?
All I have is videos edited down, no FX, titles and a static image with fade outs on the visual.
Nothing else.

I don't lose any work, but it is annoying when trying to focus. All settings are default as well so....

I'm sorry to hear about your problems. Pity that removing NB didn't resolve the issue. I appear to be one of the lucky ones who didn't get the random crashes with VS 2021 Ultimate. But I only upgraded from Win 10 to 11 a little over a week ago. So far VS continues to behave, though I'll of course be alert to any crashes which might occur.

I'm only using Pro, since the crashing I have upgraded my NVidia drivers but no new Intel drivers as yet.

I am having the same issue. I also have NewBlue Titler installed along with some of their effects packages... but I really don't want to make any changes to those due to the fact I use it with other programs. VS21 Ultimate starts up, stays up for a moment or two and then crashes. It doesn't matter whether try to click on a menu or not... it just vanishes - crashes.

OK slight discovery.

I have disabled the autosave function and so far no matter what I throw at it there hasn't been a crash.
Not the best solution as it means I have to remember to save all the time but no crashes on its own....

Once again we have varying results, I have no issues whatsoever with NBT Pro 5, all of the filters I have tried are fully functional and no crashes all with the Auto Save function is enabled

Me too, Robert. Everything still seems to work, and nothing is disabled. Moreover, I have just upgraded to Win 11. But as I said, it's good to have a variety of possible solutions for those not as lucky as we seem to be...

VS Studio 2021 Ultimate - launch and crash.
I had a similar problem. Initially VS2021 worked on WIn11 no problem at all. In my case I can't remember if I installed VS first or Win 11 upgrade first, but in any case it worked perfectly. Then (and this happens every time I need something done by a particular deadline) the program refused to render. I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH vs 2018. vs2019, vs 2020 vs 2021.
I noticed another writer mentioned about an MP 4 audio issue. I have had similar problems with other mp4 files. I usually work with MSOffice Power-point, because I make training videos, and the text on vstudio, is ..well not great; also the ppt gives me a working stage as it were. Once I have the PPT done and all the animation timing worked out, complete with audio, I render it into an MP4.(If I could find another presenter program that would offer that feature I would love to leave the office). It turns out the MP4 format MSOffice uses doesn't always jive with vstudio. VS2021 seemed to have conquered the MP4 chasm until this weekend, when it reared its ugly head again. The stop gap fix I found was to down load a free converter program and convert the mp4 MSO version to another video format like MP4 (I know I even get confused during the process). So I did that and ...no help. It would render the video if I converted the MSO -MP4 to avi, but there was way to much quality loss. So I decided to re-install VStudio, and use the repair feature. Net result was screen flash and no dance. And as usual I got the "We're sorry you are having difficulties, we will set up a ticket for you. I ended up re-installing Vs2019 , and I was able to render enough to get by for today, although it had less than half the material I wanted to put into it. The software has a long history of this sort of problem. I can understand that they can't possible know what ever person's computer is etc., but perhaps they would be better to require your MSINFO.ini BEFORE they sell you the product.

I would switch to Adore Premier, but I hate their interface, it's hard to learn, and I don't want to pay a monthly subscription.

Your profile says "Corel programs: Videostudio 2020 Ultimate", so is it VS2020 or VS2021?

VS runs perfectly on Preview and Editing with the NewBlue FXs but the instant I try to Render the programs crashes.

There are about a 100 NewBlue FXs in VS2021, so which of them is causing an issue? Suggest that you upload a Smart Package that illustrates the issue.

If I can't sort it soon I'll have to abandon VS and switch to something like Filmora Pro...

As you know that Filmora is perfect, then by all means you should use it.
