PSP 2022 64-bit Won't Start

Post by Rick_R »

I had PSP 2022 installed and working, changed some File Location settings, and now it won't start. I get the splash screen, then nothing. In Task Manager it doesn't show it.

PSP 2022 x86 does work.

I tried running Repair, I tried running the Update, even uninstalled and reinstalled and still it doesn't start.

When I did the uninstall, I did not [x] Remove User Files.

The reason is that I have loads of junctions to a set of folders that are common to multiple PSP versions. In other words, PSP X8, X9, 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022 all are working from a single set of files. If I tell it to Remove User Files it will screw up all the other ones.

And again--it was working and not for just a little while, and x86 still works.

Does PSP have some kind of command-line parameters for "minimum start", "safe start", etc.?

You could try holding the shift key and then double click Paintshop pro version you want to use. This should reset any settings that you changed in that version, to default. If that does not start up then I would suggest going to Corel support as it could be a conflict somewhere in the settings or registry.

Before you reset, make sure you save any customized workspaces. Otherwise, they will be lost in the reset.

The reason why I did not say save your settings is that could of caused your problems. Plus as they can't get into Paintshop pro they can't save any settings.

I have same problem the 32bits version starts very slowly. Got first screen, looks nothing happened and then Yeh it opens.
The 64bits just the first screen and then it stops. Did try with holding shift key: no results.
Had to install 2022 again after very needed recovery of W11.
Never had problems before.
Installed 2021 too, so I can do something.
Installation was without any problem, both versions and both versions works well.

What Version of Windows 11 do you have, as that could of been the problem windows 11 update. In All honesty Windows 11 is still very buggy at present.
