Greetings,
I read a similar question about VS incorrectly displaying videos in the preview window. My problem is VS is not displaying the preview window at all. I installed a trial copy of VS to see how it handles a couple features before purchasing.
I installed VS earlier today. I added an mp4 video which displayed fine in the preview window. The next time I opened VS, there was no preview window. I tried a number of things to get the window back. If I double click a video in the library, a window opens in the center of the workspace for single clip trim. This is not the preview window at the left of the workspace. The toolbar under the preview window is also missing.
I want to find out if crop, aspect ratio and export aspect ratios can be set to custom sizes or are limited to a very few common ratios. I have an old copy of Corel VSPX6 and am currently using another editor that works pretty good, but I need an editor with better color correction. VS looks pretty good, but I need custom aspect ratios.
I am thinking about buying a license so I can raise the problem to support. However, I can’t seem to find a support address or ticket system? Maybe they provide this after I purchase a license. They certainly don’t have any pre-sales contact.
Thanks,
Roger

Welcome to the forums
I have moved your post to the Video Studio forums where it will receive a better response.
The programs user interface for edit is made up of 3 panels which can be re-arranged to our needs although most use the default layout
Try pressing the keyboard key F7, this should set the default view

Re: Video Studio 2021 No Preview Window
A possibility for this effect is the use of 2 displays (a set in windows feature), where the preview window is moved to the 2nd display. Having set it in windows, you make use of a 2nd display by moving the UI display panels around in Settings/preferences/UI layout. There are options for the default, and several custom variations. The main toolbar is still visible in your image, so Settings is available to you.
From context, you are using a single display PC, so how that may have happened is at best a guess. What Trevor suggests by using F7 and restoring the default UI layout should fix it.
