VS 2021 download folder on desktop?

Post by alanball »

Hi all
After buying VS2021 before Xmas, I have just downloaded and install it, and working fine. I am not sure about a couple of things with the folder on my desktop. I assume all the files in the 64bit folder which has Bonus Features, Common, Standard Content and Ultimate sub Folders. Have been installed, as the New Effects and TitlerPro appear to be installed.

Under the Common folder, a sub folder, has DoMoreTitleFont.exe and Highlight Reel.exe. do these need to be installed separately?

I assume the StandardContent and Ultimate Folders are all installed.

Finally, can I now relocate the desktop VS2021 folder to my downloads folder?
Thanks

Hi Alan. First off, I have no idea why you have that download folder on your desktop rather than in your Downloads folder from the start. That's where mine has always appeared with every version since I started off with version 7 (and that's 7, not X7!). So I would assume you can already transfer it to the Downloads without more ado.

With VS2021 open, check under Tools to see if Highlight Reel is included there, as well as MultiCam and Painting Creator. And do you have desktop icons for things like MyDVD and MultiCam Capture Lite? If not, you can install them from that desktop/Downloads folder, and they should equally well install wherever they are now located.

Hi Ken
thanks for reply. Yes I have Highlight Reel, Multicam and Paint Creator under Tools. I have the old MyDVD from 2018 and an Icon for Multicapture Lite, so it looks as though all have been installed. (never used MyDVD)

So I will move the VS2021 folder plus the Log installation folder to Downloads. As you say, a first for downloading VS onto my Desktop Folder.

Thanks again Ken, hope you had a good Xmas and all the best for the New Year.

Meri Kirihimete! It was quiet for me, but that's how I enjoy it. Certainly avoided the roads!!
