Scrolling or rolling titles
Hi Everyone,
Is it possible to do rolling or scrolling titles (the titles come in at the bottom of the screen and move slowly to the top) in VSP#!0? I'm talking about titles that last a minute or two.
Thank you,
Al Marotta

Re: Scrolling or rolling titles
Look for the Star Wars effect, or, if in VSX10, under Titles, look for Lorem ipsen dolor sit amet

Re: Scrolling or rolling titles
Hi Robert OZ
Thanks for your info but I mayneed a bit more help. I struggled for an hour using one of the lorem ipsems that had four lines or so of titles that scrolled up the screen, I could not for the life of me figure out how to add more than four lines of titles. I may not have been using the lorem ipsem you have recommended (I'm really too tired to go back to VSP right now.). Can you just tell me if you are certain the lorem you suggested will in fact take, within reason, limitless amounts of titles with no spacing in between?
Thanks again,
Al

Re: Scrolling or rolling titles
this gets asked a lot.
1. Use the scrolling titles effect, start typing some of the text into the effect, but then switch over to notepad once you have the title in the right place
2. write all your text into notepad, paste it into the effect, preview it.
3. then edit it in notepad a bit, select all the text in the effect, delete it, and copy from the notepad version again
4. preview it
5. go back to step 3
it's actually quite smooth and quick once you get the hang of doing it this way.
Secret tip - to get the full Star Wars wavy effect, you need to render it out as a video, then import the video into timeline and apply a tiny bit of camera shake along with the distortion effect to get the vanishing thing to work.

Re: Scrolling or rolling titles
Hi Zap,
Are you saying you start with the scrolling loren ipsum thing, start typing some text and then you go to windows notepad then go back to loren and paste it in? Is there some notepad in VSP that I have overlooked?
Thank you,
Al

Re: Scrolling or rolling titles
Can you confirm how long the scrolling titles will be, 1 minute or two is quite a long time and will have a lot of text lines.

Re: Scrolling or rolling titles
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the iinput of people. I followed Zap's instruction and got it to work with one overwhelming problem. Is there any way to slow down the speed of the scrolling when you've got a lot of lines in the titles? The lines go too fast when you have lots of lines. Surely VSP has adjustments as good as the Imovie I used thirteen years ago (save for not putting the names of clips when there moved to storyboard.)
Thank you,
Al
P>S> Zaphodukus, I went to your you tube site and it asked me to subscribe, something I have never done on you tube. But thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Scrolling or rolling titles
Just give the titles more time to scroll - just make the time they are on screen longer
before you say you don't want them longer lets cover a few basic physics - If I stood you in the goal posts of a football field and said you had 2 seconds to get to the goal at the other end you would have to move pretty quickly - but if I said you had 30 minutes to get to the other end you could move very slowly - same with your titles give them a short time to get the last line up and onscreen and the lines will move fast -- give them a long time and they will move up slowly
Experiment with the total title time to get the speed you want

Re: Scrolling or rolling titles
With the title in the timeline, just select it, then pull the right side out along the timeline until it runs at the speed you want...
