Export Clip to save as file?

Post by ozzlvlosis »

I'm using videostudio 2019

i've chopped up a couple large videos into smaller clips

Im about done with editing however it feels wrong to just delete my unused clips

is there a way to export these clips and save them to my computer individual video files?

You must remember that every thing you do in Videostudio is virtual - all that cutting, trimming and whatever are only saved in your project file (.vsp file) so the original video is always on your hard drive in the state you first uploaded it and unless you do a manual delete on that original file you can re-use the original anytime and any part of it - deleting clips in your timeline does not delete any part of the original video
but if you do want just the bits of video to use just as they are in future project then just left click and hold down the key on the clip and slide it up into the library where a new thumbnail will be created linked only to that section of the original

To save as individual files to the PC you can render the clips to new video files , as Asik1 says using File – Save trimmed Video
However some types of edits will not allow that process, Mercalli stabilisation and Pan & Zoom come to mind, with those applied to your clip “Save as Trimmed Video” is greyed out.

The other option is to use the “Project Preview Range” to render a section of your project, more work involved so depends on how much you need a separate copy.

Look in Preferences > General for the location of your Working Folder. It would normally be there and have the path C:\Users\[YourName]\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\22.0 if you are still using VS 2019 as your Profile indicates.

When we save a trimmed video a thumbnail/clip of the new file is placed in the library, a right click here for "Locate on Computer" should locate the new file.
