Prodad Mercalli (again)

Hi there,
one of the most useful features in CVS is the stabilizing one - Prodad Mercalli.
but I am having issues with it:
working allright in the Preview window, but when I (succesfully) render the video, the resulting file has the "Analyse required' band again.

I know there is a fix concerning Mercalli, but this was for a problem with use of the stabilizer more than once in the timeline itself.

What version are you using

I assume you have applied the Mercalli hot fix?

AVI is just a container, what type of AVI files are you using MiniDV type would be DV.AVI

I'm using Ultimate '21.
I have downloaded the hotfix, but for certainty: maybe you can give me the path in which 'mercalli_x64' (the hotfix) needs to be installed .

is it this one: C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 2021 ? or
this one: C:\Program Files\proDAD\MercalliPlugins-5.0 ?

profile: (DV 720x576, 4:3, 50i)
properties: Microsoft AVI
24 bits, 720x576, 4:3, 25fps, lower field first, dv encoder type2.

(or I just take 'same as project settings', with the same characteristics.

Running the hotfix should automatically install with no need to choose a location

well, anyhow... it only works in the timeline.
After rendering it gives the 'Analysis required' screen again

I was testing using dv.avi type 1, dont suppose that would make a difference
I was unable to replicate all renders worked ok with no analyse being needed

What are your project properties and what are you choosing from share

If you choose same as first video clip, does that work

project settings are DV/AVI.
share settings are 'same as project settings'
the preview screen (next to the Share tab) does allright (!!!!) and also the rendering does not give a problem (file successfully rendered).
it is when I play the resulting file in my mediaplayer afterwards when the 'analysis required' screen pops up again.

I am dumbfounded....

After rendering a thumbnail is placed in the library, I assume this also has the analyse banner

Just looking for reasons here…..
Type 1 or 2
I have always used type 1 as that is what the camera records to 720 x 576 is Pal at 25fps
When I have created a NTSC profile I had thought type 2 had to be used
Of course changing the frame rates will cause Mercalli to analyse again.

I assume you are in Europe as you are using Pal
Go to F6 Preferences, to the bottom of that panel for TV System -- Pal or Ntsc, which one is selected.

Can you give full details of the project properties - press Alt + Enter -- copy and paste the details in the properties panel.

There has to be something different
Are you able to share one of your video files, you would have to upload to a sharing site, Google , One Drive, dropbox ect.

yes, I can do that with dropbox. If you can send me a file request.
PAL is correctly selected in the prop.menu.

Trevor, for reasons of clarity:

it does work when I choose other Share-options like MPEG4 or AVC/H.264.
nevertheless it remains strange that in the AVI-option it does work in the timeline (so within CVS) and also in the Preview (and even succesfully renders) but not outside CVS.

I do not have any problems using those AVI clips and applying Mercalli

I did notice that your original of the elk had 562 frames whereas the rendered files only 547
I don't know why that should be unless they are not a matched pair.
If they are then rendering changed the length of the clip and we know that altering the length will cause Mercalli to analyse again.

Are you saying they the rendered AVI files play ok without the Analyse banner when viewing using Video Studio
yet playing the files from your hard drive using say VLC Media Player displays the banner.

thanks, yes I noticed that indeed.
rendering changes the length of the clip.
WHY?

the clip comes back in the library with the banner on it, but it plays nice in the timeline and the Preview on the Share-tab.

so conclusion: It does not render correctly while it says it does??

Hi Trevor,

i THINK I've found the problem.
when importing the video into CVS I used the 'automatically cut-scenes' option.
although I have small clips now, they all have the same name & the Property submenu gives the framelength for the whole video (in stead of the clip).

and although I have a small clip in the timeline, the rendering prob. doesn't see its correct length.

I now managed to stabilize the clip I've sent you.
