Can someone tell me how to undo a split clip? I accidentally split a clip in the wrong place and I want to redo it. I can't just do a contl z, because I did some other things since then. I tried going onto the split and right clicking but there is no option to undo the split. I also looked at many youtube and corel videos and no one says how to do it. Please help!
Also, can someone tell me how to subscribe to my questions so I can see if I have an answer?

Re: How to undo a split clip
Have you gone to the place where the original file is stored? If so, you should find that clip there and untouched. The point is that an editing program like VideoStudio does nearly all its edits virtually. In other words, what you see in the program is virtual edits, while the original video remains where it always was, untouched... But I have to ask here exactly how you split the clip. Normally, if the clip is in the timeline and you used the editing scissors to cut it, it should be OK in the original...

Re: How to undo a split clip
Ok but does that mean I have to do all that editing all over again? Do I have to start from scratch?

Re: How to undo a split clip
I guess I'm not following you, Ken. Yes I do have the original file on my computer but I don't know how to keep the original file in Videostudio. In fact, I didn't know there was a place to store it in VS. I'm confused. I thought that VS would have some kind of history states where you can find what you want to undo and undo it without touching the other edits.
Maybe I should pretend it's not there and continue working and ignore it. Ugh.

Re: How to undo a split clip
If you have simply used the scissors ( shift+S) and not changed the length of the either segments ( clips) then there is no problem and you can simply ignore the cut.
If you have removed any frames, maybe deleted one of the clips then that could be repaired.
As a test start a new project
Please confirm you are using 2020
1 / From Samples insert the Sample_Lake to the timeline
2 / Use the scissors to cut the video into 2 clips
3 / Select the second clip and delete
4 / Selecting the first clip will show the length being represented below the preview screen
White is the clip the dark section being the removed part
5 / Using the navigation keys END click till the cursor moves far right adjacent to the square brackets
6 / Float your mouse over the brackets for a tool tip, click the one showing Mark Out (Keyboard F4)
The Sample Lake will be back to its full glory the bar below the preview screen is full white.
Working on your project to repair a clip will alter the length and possibly affect Sync.
As mentioned if all you have done is cut the clip and not changed the length then ignore that

Re: How to undo a split clip
Thank you very much for that Trevor! I didn't change the length of the cut so I guess I'll just ignore it then. For some reason I thought it might interfere with something else. If I run across a probelm where I changed the length of it, I'll refer back here to your instructions. In fact, I'll do the test in the morning just to try it in case I mess something up in the future.
Thank you very much for your help!
And thank you, Ken for your help as well.

Re: How to undo a split clip
Yes I don't think you can unsplit a clip and make it one clip again on the timeline but you can select both clips with shift mouse and then GROUP them to treat them as a single clip.

I see. Thanks for letting me know that. I'll try it out.
