Text issue

Been using program for decades, even before Corel took it over, and have a new issue with distorted text.

On line help says "On the Tool Options palette, choose one of the following text types from the Create As drop-list:"

I don't have a "create as" option that I can find.

What's up??

CreateAs will create as a vector or selection, or raster selection it won't help with scrunched text. That's most likely a kerning option. The text toolbar has always been very long and so two different methods of hiding all of the additional options have been used. The first one in both the Jasc and Corel versions. The second option was added in one of the past 3 or 4 versions. I can't remember when it was added. But it was fairly recently.

1) Collapsable toolbar sections. You'll notice in front of the font family selection drop-down there is a white arrow pointing to the right, click that to uncollapse the toolbar section it's hiding.

2) You'll also notice a hamburger button (3 horizontal lines stacked vertically) with a white triangle pointing down, click that to reveal a drop-down panel of hidden options. You can customize which options appear in this panel making it a convenient place to quickly hide and reveal common text options that take up a lot of space.

Sorry, nothing worked, #1 above has pre sets and text cutter. I experimented with presets and now that choice "army" keeps coming back like a bad penny.
As to #2 I chose to open kerning but nothing changes when I adjust that feature.

I closed the program and re opened it and the issue resolved it's self as to sharpness, but the "army" preset still comes up when I initialize the text function.

Try hitting the reset arrow in the Presets section to see if that clears it.
