Has Paintshop Pro 2022 an image file browser?
New user. Has Paintshop Pro 2022 an image file browser? Can't find one anywhere. I currently use Faststone to drag into psp but it doesn't show .pspimage files. If I go to File Explorer I have it set to only show details (text) and no images. Thanks.

When I click on File/Open, I have access to the File Explorer and pspimage files are shown (see attached).

Re: Has Paintshop Pro 2022 an image file browser?
Yes PSP does have an image file browser. We have the Manage Tab. It's only accessible from the Complete workspace not the Photography workspace (I don't know why, so make sure you're using the full Complete workspace not the new Photography workspace.
You can see a nice overview from PSP 2020 here - https://learn.corel.com/tutorials/overv ... orkspaces/
It hasn't changed that much from 2020 to 2022 so it's mostly exactly the same.
Manage mode includes creating collections of images, and creating smart collections that can be auto-generated using dates, names, tags, etc.
Inside the Complete Edit workspace there is also the Organizer palette. This lets you see all images in a folder or collection as a film strip at the bottom of the workspace so you can quickly find and drag your images into the workspace.
Now that that's all out of the way, why do you need to set the Explorer to list only? What's wrong with using thumbnails?

Re: Has Paintshop Pro 2022 an image file browser?
Ah! Many thanks! That explains it. I was using my own custom workspace. A quick test shows that all I need to do is start again with 'Complete' Workspace, modify it to my needs, and save the workspace with a new name. A nice feature is in full screen (which I mostly use) the tabs don't show so no waste space. Shift A reveals 'Manage' again.
Regarding Explorer, it's a long story. In brief I have for many years set up Explorer in a relatively small, narrow window (so I can have several Explorer windows on screen visible at once,) and in 'details' view but with all columns removed except for 'name'. Reason is that in 'list' mode too, only the name shows - but its in multiple columns left to right which I don't like. I like one simple column. Now, if I set up photo folders to show images I'd much prefer a tall (full screen height) window with one or sometimes several columns. Since I don't want to keep resizing Explorer for each task I use a separate image browser. Now, all that refers to a separate Explorer window. I'd need to look again at how an 'open' dialogue might be affected. Possibly I could have a large open dialogue without it affecting my main Explorer preference. However, I think psp's Manage tab browser might be all I need.
Thanks again.
