I completed my project, rendered the final file, and found that video does not play smoothly.
Here is the final file:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0osUDE9V64
What is wrong? The project settings were set 'as first video clip'. So there was no change in FPS settings and final movie should not loose frames.
Why the playback is not smooth?

Whereabouts in your video is it not playing smoothly, some text seemed a bit jerky but otherwise OK, didn't play the whole video through, but selected segments to watch
Give a time in your video where you believe there is an issue

Re: VS2020 Rendered movies do not play smoothly. Why?
Clearly you have used several cameras
Most of the video looked ok, View the video at 25 minutes the drone footage did have a slight pulse.
later the car cam footage also shows a pulse
I assume the first video had different properties to the drone footage and that may impact on the quality.
For instance was the first clip using Pal 25fps with the drone using say NTSC at 60fps?

Re: VS2020 Rendered movies do not play smoothly. Why?
Both drone and gopro cameras record same type of videos 29.97FPS, MP4, 100Mbps.
Originally recorded clips are smooth, but rendered file is not.
It is especially annoying in drone scenes such as mentioned by ooy 25min, or 35min:37sec.
However when played in lower quality (FullHD or below) the the smoothnes is better.
Is there possibility that pulses are because computer has not enough power to process 4K movies? (but other 4K movies on YT it plays ok)
Another question about the printscreens of google maps on my movie eg. 12min 55sek
Printscreens were prepared in resolution far better than 4K and a final result is completely blurred. What I did wrong?
It seems that VS2020 downscales the picture and when the zoom option increases it processes downscaled picture and not the original one.

Re: VS2020 Rendered movies do not play smoothly. Why?
It may be best to give us the full properties of your video clips
Right click a clip on the timeline, Properties, create an image of that panel to attach to your post
Or type the details.
When you do Share – what options did you choose – Same as First Clip would be best
ok
At 4.35 the map is a little blurred, yes you are correct that the program does not handle UHD images that well, you are best to use an image same as the video and same as project properties frame size. You do not give any details.
Looking carefully from 4 .40 there is a pulse in that section.
I believe the pulse is caused by a mismatch between the video footage, Project Properties and Share option choice
If you wish to render to same as original video you may be best to create a new profile using Settings -- Movie Profile Manager
Here you select the format, Mpeg4
Now use the Add option will allow you to browse for one of your video files
Give the profile a meaningful name, I usually add MY to the name… example ( MY 1920 x 1080 x 25fps x 15000kbps)
Ok to that panel, the profile details will show in the lower panel.
Do not edit the profile, just close the Manager
From Share – Mpeg4 your profile should be available at the top of the list.
Try rendering a short section, use the Preview Range to do that, has that improved things

Re: VS2020 Rendered movies do not play smoothly. Why?
Properties of drone and gopro files are in attachements.
For sharing I'm choosing "same as first clip"
Setting new profile is impossible because VS2020 does not allow bitrate over 65Mbps, so I'm staying with setting "same as first clip"

Re: VS2020 Rendered movies do not play smoothly. Why?
Did you try creating a new profile using the ADD option as that may / should use 100mbps
If we try to Edit that new profile then it will revert to 65
Unfortunately I do not know if creating a new profile will help correcting the pulse in playback, but worth a go. I would expect that to be a frame rate problem.
When you use “Same as first video clip” are the properties same as original video file.
If you place the rendered video on the timeline you should be able to view each frame by hitting the F keyboard, you should notice duplicate frames that cause the pulse in playback.

Re: VS2020 Rendered movies do not play smoothly. Why?
The only way to set 100Mbps in share section is to put first video clip form GoPro. I can't even use files from drone as first clip (no audio) - so in this case
rendering using option "same as first clip" will result in loss of audio track.
It is not possible to edit or create new profile because all actions decrease quality to 65Mbps

Yes we can create a new profile as my previous post using Settings Movie Profile Managersteve13 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 11, 2021 9:27 pm The only way to set 100Mbps in share section is to put first video clip form GoPro. I can't even use files from drone as first clip (no audio) - so in this case
