Re: Cannot start the capture Graph
Are you connecting to the pc via Firewire IEEE terminals.
That will transfer the footage as DV-AVI without recoding the source files, best quality
There is a free program called Win DV that can be used to transfer the footage, then import the files to Video Studio to edit, you could try that, but Firewire is needed

Re: Cannot start the capture Graph
The only other thought is the order we connect and turn on the camera
Whether we turn on the camera first then go to Capture – Capture Video
Or Capture first then turn on camera
I am sure in the past some found that to be a problem.
Do the programs play / pause options actually start and stop the camera?
You could also try running the camera, then Pause, then Capture Video

Re: Cannot start the capture Graph
One other possibility is that your problem might have been caused by Microsoft updating its Firewire driver and your camera only works properly with an older driver. If so you might need to roll back the driver to a legacy one. Here's how:
1- Open Control Panel > Device Manager
2- Expand the "IEEE 1394 Bus Host Controllers" node in the device tree by double clicking.
3- Select the Driver tab and the click the Update driver button.
4- Select "Browse my computer for driver software"
5- Select "let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer ..." and Check the box before “Show compatible hardware”.
6. Choose the second option--- "1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy)", and click Next to update the driver.

Re: Cannot start the capture Graph
Win – DV only works using Firewire, of course the software has not been updated in a few years so may not be compatible using Win 10, although I am sure I have tested DV capture and W-10
Can you confirm you are using Firewire
Usually the camcorder has DV-Out a 4 pin to 6-pin on the PC.

Re: Cannot start the capture Graph
Unfortunately I cannot test this as my old firewire card does not fit the main board
But as I mentioned I was able to use USB, some thought that was not fast enough but seemed to transfer without dropped frames
I'll did the camera out, brush off the dust and give it a go.

USB capture seems to work ok
Using USB I have the option to choose DVD or DV format I chose DV as that transfers the footage rather than capture with recoding to Mpeg
Using Firewire only DV is available.
Every other option seems to be the same as using Firewire including controlling the camera from the program, play pause, fast forward etc
I also chose Split by Scene
Activated Drop Frame Counter which has remained at zero throughout my test captures.
