So I upgraded to VS 2021 recently and I am sad to say that the glitch of VS freezing after using the adjusting clip length with the slider under the preview window (not sure of the exact name), has not been fixed. This was a problem in 2020, and it remains a problem in 2021.
For those that don't know what I am talking about. Here is an explanation. This problem first appeared in VS 2020 to my knowledge. Under the Preview window, there are two handles on either end of the clip slider that allow you to quickly alter the length of the clip (as shown in this screenshot)
This tool is very handy if you are dealing with very long videos. In 2020, using this tool would cause the program to completely freeze, requiring you to restart the computer before VS would function again. You could close the program using the Task Manager, but VS would not launch again until the computer was restarted. I am sad to find out that Corel has not addressed this issue in VS 2021, and it still remains.

Re: Glitch report for VS 2021
Sorry I cannot duplicate your problem. Adjusting the "end pointers" does not cause any problem for me using VS2020 and everything works fine. Perhaps I am not doing exactly what you are doing so can you explain your process a bit more.

Re: Glitch report for VS 2021
I have VS installed on an AMD based Desktop and an Intel and Nvidia based Laptop. On both systems, adjusting the end pointers result in VS freezing up, requiring a complete system reboot. I made you a video demonstrating the problem. This is not a one-time thing. It happens every time I try to use the end sliders and has been occurring ever since I upgrade to 2020. It did not occur in VS 2019.

Re: Glitch report for VS 2021
Sorry but is there supposed to be audio in your clip? I hear nothing. I assume, though, from the mouse movements that you may be trying to move the end markers relating to the second clip. Is that right.
I have just set up my own VS 2021 with a couple of random clips, and like canuck with VS 2020, I have no trouble at all moving the end markers of either clip. The clips respond by shortening or lengthening themselves as I move the markers. No crash occurs. I have repeated this with other clips with no problems too.
Is there anything special about the clips you have or are they just common clips?

In addition to the above comments
Your YT Video shows viewing the timelines showing a Project Preview Range as indicated by the orange line.
Dragging the trim marker should reduce the length of that clip, in doing so change the preview range
I do not know if that has any adverse effect to the project freezing or the refresh rate.
In addition I see you have added I believe filters to the clip as indicated by the yellow star, again those may have a bearing on the program refreshing the trim changes.
What filters/effects have been added
And If a speed change has been made then changing the length of the clip could be quite demanding on the program reducing the refresh time.
Once you drag the trim handle, what happens if you wait a while, do not press the mouse, does the program eventually become responsive. Or does the program eventually crash?
Does this freeze / stall of the program happen for all video clips you try to trim or just particular ones?

Re: Glitch report for VS 2021
Back from Thanksgiving. I hope you all had a great time. If you don't celebrate it, here is what you missed (I come from a family of cooks. LOL!) https://youtu.be/8MXWrLCEgu4
So, Lata, great catch on the gold star. I have done some testing, and the glitch does appear to be happening after I apply color gradings, such as Auto Tone. I had not noticed this before because I am normally working on big projects with lots of clips, gradings, effects, and transitions. This has been a problem for me since VS 2020, but I had never narrowed down what was actually causing it. Thanks for the help.
The question now is, is there a solution? Since it happens on both my systems that have completely different hardware, I think it is safe to say it is a glitch in the program. It never existed before VS 2020 as far as I know. I have gotten used to not using the end sliders out of fear of it crashing my project, but it would be nice to get this function back as it is a real time-saver on big projects.
