I believe excalibur1814 wishes you to deselect those options, then try the program.

Following. I'm having the SAME problem as OP regarding VideoStudio Ultimate 2021. Crashes every time is starts up. I've installed, uninstalled, repaired, etc. numerous times. Have been in touch with Corel, no feedback, even though I'm promised an email response. Since I'm still within the 30-day money back time period, I may have to give up and request a refund.

P.S. This program has Tone Curve which I desperately want :)

Certainly cannot blame you for exercising your rights as the money back guarantee
After all you can always purchase again should Corel come up with a fix
Seems a little strange that this does not affect more users

New Blue filters are indeed the culprit. Finally I had L2 support and they went through all that. We ran cleanup2021 tool, then installed everything but Bonus Features (Bonus features did not download properly, another story). The trick is to before launching VideoStudio Run the new blue uninstaller for VideoStudio.
At this point I have Basic 2021 running okay. As I indicated earlier 2021 Bonus features did not download properly. Luckily I have a another copy. Hopefully I can use it.
Also do you know how can I recover all the bonus and extra plugins and features from X10, 2018, 2019 and 2020?

I redid the install without the bonus material. Before launching VideoStudio, I went to the New Blue folder, and ran UninstallUtility_SKUFXVSP21.exe. It asked me if I wanted to fix the install, or if it was installed correctly. I chose fix the install.

Then I launched VideoStudio. A firewall window popped up asking for permission to let the program launch. I said yes and now it has launched and not crashed. It's been five minutes. Keeping my fingers crossed :)

This has been a learning experience even if it doesn't work. Thanks for the input.

So once I dropped a video into VideoStudio for editing, it crashed. Back to square one. I've put through my request for a refund.

Am very interested in this software. Will check back and see if there have been any improvements :)

Try Cleanup again, when you run uninstall NewBlue - tell it to uninstall and then launch VideoStudio2021

The Bonus Features are version specific so really need to be installed by the version of Video Studio you have installed.
Even so some of the features are shared across different VS versions, this can cause some issues referred to as Version Collision.

You can only download the programs installation files when the program is uninstalled.

If you run the VideoStudio_Install.exe choosing Modify will show the installed packs, if Bonus Features is deselected then you should be able to download that pack again.
Otherwise you will have to either uninstall VS or use another pc that does not have VS installed, Choosing Download only
Take care as we are only allowed to install VS on one machine

Transfer the Files to the main pc

The easiest method is to uninstall Video Studio also view Program and features to uninstall any other Video Studio related files
download all installation files to a new empty folder, then install from there.

Yes you may have to run the NewBlue uninstall fix process.
