2020 Ultimate Wont Open

I have been using 2020 Ultimate for awhile with no issues. Now when I come to launch the program, I get the splash screen, then the workplace opens, but the workplace closes after 20 or 15 seconds and then the splash screen also after after another 30 seconds or so.
I have tried reinstalling numerous times.
Deleted all the work folders.
Tried the trial version and the 2021 trial version.
Run DSIM and sfc in Windows 10.
Disabled all apps etc in Windows 10.
Reset Windows 10 from the installation media.
Reinstalled graphics driver.
All with the same result.
If I try and run the repair option on Videostudio, it gets to about 2/3 of the way through and then resets my computer. Does this for 2020 and 2021.
I have checked to forums and what I gather there is no log file to see what it is getting stuck on. I think it is trying to do something through my network, but turning the firewall off has no affect.
Anyone have any other ideas I can try or point me to a log file if it exists?

Well after trying different things to get it going and getting no response from Corel, I rebuilt my PC from scratch and it now works.

And another update. I've just reinstalled Microsoft Powertoys for Windows 10, which I noticed installed a .NET update. Tried to run Videostudio again and it was back to the old problem. Removed Powertoys and all is working again.

Although I am able to run VS 2020 I am now having problems in running the installer "VideoStudio2020_Installer.exe" file
Just does not open hanging in Task Manager, unable to end that entry appears to be stuck doing "checking for updates?"
Rebooted pc and all ok

Never had this hang before, coincidence or Power Tools??????????

Remove Power Tools and try again. There is a .NET fixer tool that you could also try

Power Tools did not seem to have any adverse effects on Video Studio or my pc
Tried using Rename option which was poor, I did get a little tired of the notifications, so removed I Power Tools.
For all my efforts I cannot replicate the problem, all my VS programs run without problems, other than the first launch after installation, may need a second attempt.

Mine will not work with PowerToys installed. A new version has just come out and I tried that, same result. It all used to work with no problems. I also have Stardock's Object Desktop installed. I have had that on my system for years again with no issues. Might try uninstalling it, installing PowerToys again and see what happens. Without a log file for VideoStudio, it's a pain in the **** trying to figure out what is going on.

Other users are looking at a link to New Blue
Can you look at Program and Features to see if there is an entry for “New Blue Titler pro5 for Corel” l believe that was the name.
If you find that can you uninstall, see how that goes, thanks

Latest update. Have now installed 2021 Ultimate and all works fine. Installed latest version of Powertoys (0.51.1 x64) and still the same. I am running Windows 10 Home with .NET Framework 4.8

What do you mean by “Still the Same”

Still the same as in it “and all works fine”
Or still the same, fails to launch with Powertoys
I assume the latter
If you have not done so I would contact Corel Support with your findings regarding Powertoys and .NET Framework 4.8

As I mentioned earlier I did install Powertoys but had no effect on running Video Studio 2020

Just reviewing my files after uninstalling Powertoys showed the Powertoys folder still on my pc.
C:\Program Files\PowerToys
It may be best to uninstall Powertoys then delete that folder before re-installing

Installing the above DID NOT install Netframework
only Windows Desktop Runtime and Powertoys (Preview) showing within Program and Features.
do you need .NET Framework 4.8

All my Video Studio programs launch without issue.

Still the same - with PowerToys installed VideoStudio will not load.
I tried to contact support with my original problem. They told me to save my projects by going into VideoStudio and exporting them. If it wont load how am I supposed to do that? Obviously they don't have a clue what they are doing so gave up on them.
I did try removing the .Net framework but that didn't make any difference. To be honest I only used the resizer in PowerToys, so now using Paint again to resize pictures, so no great loss.

If its only for re-size then PSP would be the better option, saying that I have not tested Powertoys resize

Hello guys, kind of glad I found this post as I was having the same problem for the last few days. Attempting to launch VideoStudio 2020 or FastFlick resulted in app loading logo, eventual timeout and silent crash to desktop, tried reinstalling etc but all to no avail. So your mention of Powertoys reminded me of past discussions on Github re. Powertoys. Firstly Powertoys is not officially supported by Microsoft and secondly one section of the suite has been notoriously buggy from it's inception, namely Video Conference Mute. Just to check if this was my problem I decided to check Powertoys settings, found it was at v0.49 and updated to v0.51.1 scrolled down to Video Conference Mute and found it was switched on possibly by default in a previous update or an oversite on my behalf, turned it off and lo and behold both VideoStudio and FastFlick loaded. Tested both programs to load samples and templates and all seems ok.

I've checked through all the other Powertoys settings, carried out a number of reboots in the process and only Video Conference Mute appears to be causing any problem so no need to uninstall Powertoys. So the solution is launch Powertoys if not already launched at Startup, right click Powertoys icon and open settings, go down to Video Conference Mute and switch off the Enable Video Conference Mute button. You should now be able to launch VideoStudio and FastFlick, incidentally Video Conference Mute appears to also have a conflict with Windows 10 keyboard PrintScreen and OneDrive. I'll post this both to Github and Corel support.
