Corel PaintShop Pro.exe-System Error
On boot up I get the following message.
“Corel PaintShop Pro.exe-System Error. The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP110.dll was not found.Reinstalling the programme may fix this problem”
Reinstalling does not fix the problem as the same message shows on trying to launch the programme
Help please

Re: Corel PaintShop Pro.exe-System Error
Can we also assume that you have done a search for MSVCP110.dll and either found it or found it missing? Does the error message indicate a path to where it should be?
My own search for that dll only adds confusion to the situation. I can find more than 20 versions of the file, most with widely different sizes. Moreover, it is clearly not a file only associated with PSP. It is in fact clearly a Windows System file, and seems to have wide AMD associations -- which is in itself strange since my computer does not contain AMD cards of any kind, being an entirely Intel NUC.
But if your msg indicates where the file is supposed to be, maybe we could copy our own version and somehow get it to you...
EDIT: I just noticed there was a further link in the link that Kathy provided. It leads to MS site offering a full download of the relevant C++ redistributable. Maybe that is worth trying. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... x?id=30679

Re: Corel PaintShop Pro.exe-System Error
I have restarted and shut down several times
A search resulted in a message saying “best match- see web results.
I downloaded the file from the link, I could not see an option to run the software, clicked save.
I double clicked the exe file, clicked agree to license terms, clicked install.
Got message to say Setup failed caused by one or more issues, please fix and retry. Ox80070666 .Another version of this product is already installed .To config or remove existing version use add remove in control panel. I removed earlier downloaded versions downloaded today.
Under Apps and features there are 11 C++ files dated from 2008 to 2019.Do all these need to be uninstalled ?

Re: Corel PaintShop Pro.exe-System Error
Ken - I have 13 entries for C++ 2005 through 2019 and there are no conflicts. I am not all that knowledgeable regarding C++ so if it was me I'd be calling Microsoft Support. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/
If LeviFiction is around he may have some advice as he is more knowledgeable in this area.

Re: Corel PaintShop Pro.exe-System Error
I don't know much about C++ either.
But *Ken Veal* : do NOT uninstall any of the existing ones. Each of them has its own specific purpose with different programs... I agree with Kathy you need to contact MS unless LeviFiction or someone more knowledgeable than us comes along...

Re: Corel PaintShop Pro.exe-System Error
This link my help
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/win ... 779ffef459
What might of happened is that you unistalled one program and it uninstalled that file. Easy fix. With some older programs they require certain versions of the dll to work and some can evern over riight their version to the system directory. Personally i would frun a SFC on the computer to see if anything else has changed as well. This basically will check system files and important windoiws files and see if they are the right ones and should beable to fix them if not.
How to Run SFC from within Windows as an Administrator:
Click the Start button and in the search bar, type: CMD.
Right-click CMD.exe and select Run as Administrator.
Click Yes on the User Account Control (UAC) prompt that appears.
Once the blinking cursor appears, type: SFC /scannow.
Press the Enter key.

Re: Corel PaintShop Pro.exe-System Error
As far as I know, Video Studio, Paint Shop pro and Power DVD are the only programmes I cannot access because of this issue.Msvcp110.dll is a file used by Windows 10 inside the Windows Operating System. I am struggling with issues to install what is necessary to solve this problem at the moment when this file is corrupt, partially installed or missing.Reinstalling the programmes affected does not solve the problem

Re: Corel PaintShop Pro.exe-System Error
Problem solved re “Corel Paint Shop Pro.exe-System Error. The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP110.dll was not found. Reinstalling the programme may fix this problem” error
This was not sorted by me but a learned IT wizard.
If anyone is interested here is a summary of the method used to solve the issue.
This error prevented the use of Paint Shop Pro, Video Studio and Power DVD.It happened after a Windows update but this does not prove it is the villain.
There was a problem/corruption in one of the11 C++ files dated from 2008 to 2019 Under Apps and features .It was easier to reinstall all of them rather than try to find the faulty file.
PowerDVD had an issue caused by it reverting to a basic version. It was reinstalled to the version that I had the product key for.
No more error messages and all programmes usuable
Thank you for all the replies
