PaintShop Pro lose special drag handles after changing layer

Post by jiffle »

I often make a selection then use the Pick Tool (arrow) to get access to the Mode options allowing me to drag the selection handles in different ways (Scale, Shear, Perspective, Free). However if I do this, and choose option Free and transform the shape of a selection (and its contents), then whenever i navigate away from the layer where that selection is and then return back again then the original draggable selection edges have disappeared and the selection is now contained within / bounded by within a rectangle. I can transform that rectangle, which indirectly transforms the original selection within the rectangle, but i can no longer transform the original selection using its original edges. Is there a way around this? Thanks, Jeremy

This is unfortunately by design. The pick tool is destructive. Once you move away from the transformation or hit the accept checkmark on the tool options palette it performs and completes the transformation forgetting where the nodes were on the original layer.

Okay .. I did wonder if that was the case .. thank you for replying tho cos it means I can at least accept it rather than wondering whether there is a workaround I don’t know about …
