To launch VideoStudio, I need to disable the Intel graphics driver first. Otherwise, it will force closed. Then, delete the sample mp4 videos from the video library of VideoStudio. After that, enable the Intel graphics driver and restart VideoStudio. This is only a temporary fix. I need to prevent using the sample mp4 videos. Otherwise, it will force close again.

rheneaschoi.....
That’s a different twist on the program not launching
Which library samples did you remove, there are some including the Sample Lake and other in the Backgrounds – Video section.
I do get the occasional fail to launch but always works on the second attempt.
you could remove the samples from the hard, right click any clip from the library for Locate on Computer
I renamed the Video folder/s to Video_Old
Opening Video Studio to remove the clips from the library.
I will run like that for a while to see if that cures the occasional fail to start.

Re: Video Studio 2021 fails to run
Last time I was confronted with this problem the only was to solve it was to do a fresh install of Windows. VS 2021 ULT had been working fine for me since November 2021.
For reference purposes I am using
1) Re-setting the library - made no difference.
2) I had a look at events viewer but could spot nothing obvious.
3) I ran the installation software and tried to effect a repair. This kept giving error messages.
4) I uninstalled VS Ult, used the clean up tool, and, re--installed the software from my saved installation files.(I noticed that this process copied a new set of installation files on to my desktop).
It now got as far as the welcome screen but crashed as soon as I clicked on any of the tabs.
5) i) I uninstalled VS Ult, used the clean up tool, and, reinstalled the software from the files the previous clean install downloaded to my desktop.
ii) I re-booted my pc and it again crashed after the welcome screen.
I had previously posted on these forums a problem that I had with Video Studio Ult 2020 failing to load which turned out to be a conflict with additional Newblue collections i had purchased..
>>> VS 2020 and Newblue plugins
The only workaround I could find this time was to go to C:\Program Files\NewBlueFX\uninstallers.
There was an uninstaller for Titler 5 so I ran it, rebooted the pc and voila - VS 2021 Ultimate immediately loaded with no problems.
For reference purposes I am using
I last used VS Ult 2021 on Sunday when I wrote one of my projects to DVD. Yesterday when I tried to load the software to edit one of my saved projects it crashed immediately after the splash screen. I tried the following steps.Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 21H2
Installed on 27/11/2021
OS build 22000.593
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.593.0

Re: Video Studio 2021 fails to run
I am running Windows 11 and VideoStudio Ultimate 2021. The software would start the first time after installation, then fail to start every time thereafter. None of the solutions here worked. I tried installing just the base application, uninstalling other optional apps, etc... Nothing worked but the following:
1. VideoStudio starts the first time. The second time it shows the splash screen, then crashes. Delete the directory 24.0 to get the app to start again. The 24.0 directory gets created after the 1st launch, then it can’t start again.
a. C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\24.0
2. From Preferences dialog, select Default Startup Page: Capture. This prevents the sample files below from being accessed during startup (I think).
3. Delete the Sample_360.mp4 and Sample_Lake.mp4 from the directory below. These files if clicked cause the application to crash.
a. C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 2021\Samples\Video
One more thing learned. Some videos recorded on my phone crash VS when adding on the Edit screen. It appears some video's cannot be opened/edited by VS which is why the above steps work by preventing opening the sample video at startup. The workaround is if you have a video that you want to edit and VS crashes when inserting into the timeline, you need to convert the mp4 video to another format. I used HandBrake (which is free) and converted mp4 to mkv. For instance, set HandBrake Preset to "Very Fast 1080p30" and then select MKV from the Preset dropdown. Press "Start Encode". When complete, VS is then able to import mkv.

Re: Video Studio 2021 fails to run
endurodave and welcome to the forums
Thanks for your input here your comments certainly welcome.
A little hard to replicate when we don’t have the same issues.
After deleting or re-naming the two sample files if you were to go Settings – Library Manager - Reset Library that should load the library without the offending samples.
Just thinking out loud……
There are other Mpeg4 samples within the Background – Video gallery, do they cause the program to crash?
And If this issue is specific to Mpeg4 video I wonder if our own Mpeg4 video causes the program to crash
Also whether rendering to Mpeg4 also causes this crash?

Re: Video Studio 2021 fails to run
Clicking my own videos in the Edit page does not crash (after using Add to get them added first). Also clicking any of the Backgrounds > Videos images does not crash. All mp4 files. I did Settings > Library Manager > Reset Library and did not crash. All seems solid now.

Re: Video Studio 2021 fails to run
Thank you very much, I struggled for hours, days to get Video Studio 2021 on my new Laptop. Corel even gave a message that the product does not belong to me, reset my PC etc etc.endurodave wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 12:34 am I am running Windows 11 and VideoStudio Ultimate 2021. I then installed a trial of Pinnacle 26, thinking of switching to that. After watching tutorials I just wanted to give VS another try.
So I followed exactly the steps above and it worked perfectly.
You saved me a lot of time.
