When I start an import (recording from handycam) with CVS the first frames are missing. I suppose due to a delay (via the connect dv-cable?).
Is there a way around this? (Pause buttom on camera doesn't help.)
Thanks
Start recording

Re: Start recording
Welcome to the forum.
Can we assume -- from your reference to a "connect dv-cable" that your handycam shoots in DV/AVI or HDV? If not, what kind of handycam is it?

Re: Start recording
one possibility is the recording technique you use. With a Dv cable input, set the computer to recording the DV input before you start the camera playing . . you may wind up with some blank frames at the start of the recorded file, that can easily be trimmed off, but you should not miss anything the camera plays . .

Re: Start recording
A long time since I transferred dv-avi
Do you have the camcorder set to pause or stop
I believe pause seems to run immediately whereas from stop there was a little delay.
Not sure if this what is causing your issue
