Don't forget that there are a variety of media players out there which connect to the TV's HDMI connection. They also often have USB input so you can plug in either a USB stick drive or external hard disk with video on it. I have an old Western Digital player which I use for this purpose since my now quite old Samsung TV has a USB input which can only be used to show photos, not video. Unfortunately the WD player was discontinued in 2016, I believe, but you might find a store which still sells them, or any number of substitute players.cdoughertycd wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 2:11 amOk, thanks David, I look at the back of my TV and will try.

Regarding Bluray burning, like Ken at one time did burn my projects to Bluray Discs but now find saving as a video data file as High Definition is an easy method, I can play the video files on TV via a USB stick. I would choose the original settings for my output settings.
To play Bluray of course we have to own a Bluray Player connected to the TV.
There is another option to burn HD to standard disc by using the AVCHD burn option, this burns HD to the DVD disc. The duration of the movie is reduced to approx. 30 minutes as the disc only holds 4 Gb, the files being larger than Mpeg2
If you have time you could try that as a test
The simple option is data files uploading to a sharing site for your customers to download, although I guess some will still want the disc.
If your customer is providing HD video then I guess you should be providing them with the equivalent video in HD and not downscaling to DVD Mpeg2.
What are the properties of the original video files?

Re: Line left side of ISO file when played via VLC
Yesterday I asked Corel Support to try rendering to an MP2 and see what they get. He said he doesn't get the left side line. He sent me these instructions which I just did, sent him the two files he asks for. Will see what he says. Here are the instructions he sent:
"It works fine for me.
In order to properly assess the circumstances at hand, I require a copy of your MSINFO32 report and a WinAudit report from your Windows OS.
To start, please visit the link below:
WinAudit
https://www.corel.com/akdlm/6763/downlo ... nAudit.zip
Once the WinAudit.exe file was successfully downloaded, please follow these steps:
Double click on the WinAudit.exe file.
Wait for a few minutes for the audit program to completely scan your system.
NOTE: You'll know it's done when the Audit button at the upper left portion turned from red to grey.
Click on File > Save and proceed to save the .HTML file to your desktop.
Please send the resulting file to us by attaching it on your reply.
To generate the MSINFO32 report, please do the following:
Press Windows Key + R. The Windows key is located between the Ctrl and Alt keys.
Type msinfo32 and click OK.
While viewing the System Summary node go to File then Save (Please do not use Export).
Save your MSINFO32 report as msinfo32.nfo on your desktop for easy access (you may delete the file once you have attached it to support case and submitted the case).
Send the file as an attachment on your reply.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions.

Re: Line left side of ISO file when played via VLC
Hi Candy
Did the Corel Support guy send details of the video he rendered?
If he used Interlacing Lower Field First then there is no line.
But if using Progressive or Upper Field First which is used by default by the program for most HD video the line is showing.

You can use movie profile manager to create a mpeg2 profile using LFF
Or from share the + add will allow you to create a similar profile
I did give details in an earlier reply plus a sample video.
https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?p=390248#p390248
As I mentioned changing the interlacing is not recommended as it can reduce the quality.
I also asked that you tell us the properties of the original video as that influences the settings used to create the mpeg2
I had assumed that your original video was progressive.

Re: Line left side of ISO file when played via VLC
Now I remember I tried to add the Mpeg2 Profile LFF.mpg but "File Path" was grayed out. I'll do the add the clip on first top timeline. Sorry I'm so slow on this.
So using the Candy Mpeg2 Profile LFF.mpg file as first clip and Share Same as First Video Clip, I still get the line. When I go to Movie Profile Manager, I'm not able to have the MPEG2 selection hold. I close the manager, check it again and it's back to AVI as the default. See attachment.
Thanks
Candy

Re: Line left side of ISO file when played via VLC
Trevor - Update, Corel guy did not send details of the video he rendered. He sent this, but my brain is currently fried and I'm worried about screwing up entire computer needed for a whole bunch of other stuff right now (but not MPG2 renders). I've never done a clean boot. Not sure what he means toward the end of his message by "After the reboot do the installation," anyway here's what he sent:
Mr. / Ms. ,
Thank you for contacting Corel Customer Support Services.

Re: Line left side of ISO file when played via VLC
Video Studio provides many video profiles used to render our projects, although there are so many it cannot possibly provide for all occasions so it allows us to create or edit a profile.
We can do this from Settings - Make Movie Manager but there is an option from Share allowing us to do the same.
1 / go to Share
2 / select Mpeg2
3 / Select the + add option to the right of the Properties Panel
4 / a new panel will open – here change the Profile Name, type in “My 8000 29fps 720 x 480 LFF” to give the profile a description.
5 / General Tab – change the Frame Type to use Lower Field First
6 / Compression tab – here you can set the Video Data rate depending on the duration of your project, upto 6o minutes use 8000. I would also set the video Data Rate to Constant for all video less than 60 minutes.
7 / OK to close the panel
8 / the new profile will always be available via the Profile panel down arrow
9 / From the Share Tab – Settings Make Movie Manager is always available, go there now.
10 / Using Make Movie Manager is similar, but will open in AVI so first select Mpeg 2 as in #2 above.
11 / Then New to create a profile as above.
12 / additional option -- Using Add allows us to choose a video file to copy its settings to auto create the profile.
Profiles created using Make Movie Manager are also available from Share – Profile list
I find it best to add My to the profiles I create, allows me to easily identify my created profiles from the programs default profiles.
To access your profiles from Make Movie Manager change the profile showing as Default to Personal Profiles
Now go to Edit
As a test Add a black color clip
Share Mpeg2 and render to a lower field first profile
When i do this there is no line.

Trevor, thanks so much for doing the Clean Boot instructions and the profile instructions. I really appreciate it. I'll try your profile instructions later today. So we could still say there is a bug in VS 2021?

Hi Trevor, I followed steps 1-8 and also tried 9-12, but still get the line. Hmm, maybe something with my computer.
On Nov 9, Corel guy had asked me for these reports saying "In order to properly assess the circumstances at hand, I require a copy of your MSINFO32 report and a WinAudit report from your Windows OS." I followed his instructions and got those. I haven't heard back from him yet, have asked him again today.
