things in overlay track get distorted when I export

Post by Piscy_2 »

I am starting with a video that was digitized from a VHS tape, and so is in 4:3 aspect ratio. I have some inserted pictures in the overlay track, and also a couple of title screens. I made sure the pictures were all 4:3, the program says the aspect ratio for them is 4:3, but when I export/render the video, the main video is fine (4:3 with black bars on the side) but the pictures from the overlay track are stretched and distorted to fit a wider screen. I want them to appear in the 4:3 ratio with black bars -- like the video. The titles (which were created on the program) are also stretched. The picture I inserted in the main track was not stretched.

The “use fit-to-screen as default size in overlay track" box is not checked.

If anyone can help me, I would be very grateful.

Hi Piscy_2
And welcome to the forums
I suspect you may be using 4:3 for the video and 16:9 for the project settings then rendering to 4:3, maybe
You do not give any details of your project settings or the video files properties.

From Share, top left of the options tick the box for Same as Project Settings
Does that option retain the image ratio.
