Hello.
I have been using VS for over 10 years and I have never encountered this issue. Yesterday I download a video and went to take snapshots like I always have. I found that the images never made it into my folder or the image library. The image icon was on and my working folder never changed. I searched the boards but couldn't find a solution. I even uninstalled and re-installed VS but no luck. I always save in jpeg and smart render is off if that helps. There was no Windows update going on at the time I was taking the snapshots. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

Does the "Take a Snapshot" option show up on the Tools menu as shown on the enclosed image? tletterVinny C wrote: Snapshot will no longer work in VS X9 pro

Hi. Yes, it does show up. I tried a downloaded video and a short video clip from a movie DVD and no snapshot image. This might be a shot in the dark but the last time I used VS was about 3-4 weeks ago and there was a Windows update shortly after. I wasn't using VS during the update. That's all I can think of. This is crazy.

If you start of new project and drag & drop the "SP-V01.mp4" clip from the Sample library onto the video track, and then place the scrubber near the mid-point of the clip, does the "Take a Snapshot" option work? If not, what happens?Vinny C wrote: I tried a downloaded video and a short video clip from a movie DVD and no snapshot image.
I've an up-to-date Win10, and not experienced this issue with X9.Vinny C wrote: This might be a shot in the dark but the last time I used VS was about 3-4 weeks ago and there was a Windows update shortly after.

Re: Snapshot will no longer work in VS X9 pro
If tletter's suggestion doesn't work, you might want to consider "resetting" X9. To do so, first close X9. Then go to C:\Users\[Your Name]\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\ and rename the 19.0 folder to 19.0_OLD. Then restart X9. Be patient as it will be rebuilding databases and creating a new 19.0 folder. When X9 finally opens, try taking a snapshot again and see if it works this time. If not you can always delete the new 19.0 folder and taken "_OLD" off the old one and reopen X9, and it will be the same as before you tried anything.

I tried a few sample videos from VS and when I select snapshot nothing happens. Snapshot is highlighted in the edit menu. I’ll try Ken’s suggestion. Thanks all for your assistance!
