.tmp files location

Post by dataplane »

During editing pspimage files, sometimes a saving process interrupts saying "saving to .tmp". Where are these files located? There are many .tmp files in ...ProgramData\Corel\PaintShop Pro 2020... and Documents\PaintShop Pro\2020... but PaintShop Pro can't open them. Where are the files in question located and how can they be opened?

You can find and change where those files go by going to File -> Preferences -> File Locations. I'ts under "Undo/Temporary Files"

I don' know why there are so many .tmp files. But those files are 0 bytes in size so nothing can really open them. The temporary files from auto-save are there for if PSP crashes before it can clear out those temp files. When they still exist PSP should be able to see them and attempt a recovery.
